Best date spot in dundrum was cosy with alcoves, candles and dimmed lighting. The food was sensational great tapas. We ordered patatas bravas, chicken wings, beef cheeks, chickpeas, a mini burger and scallops. The scallops were definitely the best of the lot coated in a cream and bacon sauce with breadcrumbs.
Went here on Sunday for some fuel mid shopping. I love this place. The food is always good and it's really cosy. We had a lamb stew, oxtail stew with mash, hummous and aubergine tempura, mixed croquettes and bread. Brian had a glass of red. Everything was just delicious. Oxtail stew was defo the star of the show. Bill came to 33.70.

Been many times to The Port House Ibericos, always love their food, although each item doesn't seem expensive I'm sometimes surprised at the bill. Tables are small / close together and it's dark inside, I like the atmosphere but wish there was more room at the tables. In the Summer sitting outside on their back terrace area is a good spot. Lovely desserts and nice wine list too.
I met a friend here for a catch up. Nice meeting place as tables are not on top of each other and there is also a small decking area outside to eat. Average pricing, it cost me €23 for three tapas and my friend two tapas for €18. The chicken wings were a little over cooked but the prawns were top class!!! The goats cheese salad was fresh with a crunchy spin on it of almonds. The service was slow however, we were left waiting 25 minutes to order (got hangry)!
Have tried all of the port houses now and this is probably my favourite of the 3. We had a late lunch on a Sunday so was just their usual dinner menu! Between us we had 5 tapas dishes and 2 glasses of wine and was reasonable at €38, however borther of is was full with food, we went for ice creams after! So could become more expensive if you ate until you were full! But delicious food and a great variety on the menu!
The port house restaurants are great and this is the nicest one of all. Lovely cosy location with dim lighting to set the mood. Delicious tasty tapas and very nice wine. Best for a date night or nice meal after hitting the shops.
5 or 6 tapas to share for 2 people and both of you will be nicely fed. Would recommend trying as much as possible on the menu on different visits as there is a lot to try, the lamb stew is gorgeous and wings very tasty. I always order the patatas Bravas also.
1 minor complaint is depending on where you are seated you may be too close to another table but that's the con of having the intimate cosy setup.
Price is good for high quality I never mind paying the bill.
Love The Port House for tapas, it feels really authentic and tastes amazing! I would recommend about 3 tapas per person and their Sangria is a must! The atmosphere is lovely, dark lighting, candles and small tables - great for first dates ;)
Some of my favourite dishes are the Plato De Carne Caliente - it's a board of black pudding, Spanish sausage and breads. Patatas Bravas - potato pieces with a spicy tomato sauce and they do this lovely deep fried aubergine dish with cheese and honey!
You can easily be full on 15-20e and the Sangria is reasonable priced coming in different sizes, filled with fresh fruit!
The Dundrum one does a really great lunch value menu for €10.
I've been to the Port House Ibericos dozens of times and it's probably my favourite spot in Dundrum. Great setting (but be warned, a little squished), great atmosphere, wonderful tapas, great service and great value for money! They don't take reservations, so be prepared to wait, but I've never waited too long for a table and it's totally worth it once the tapas arrive! My favourite dishes are the Vieras a la Gallega (scallops), Frango Piri Piri (chicken wings) and Tetilla Templada (fried cheese), but the fun of tapas is trying new things and stealing everyone else's food! Brought my sister here last week and she loved it so much we stayed for Churros for dessert. Every visit I have been pleasantly full without being stuffed and pleasantly surprised when the bill arrives! Definitely recommend a visit!
Lovely spot perfect for a date night or a catch up with friends. The setting is gorgeous and has a real authentic Spanish feel. It is great value and the food is delicious. The portion sizes are perfect not too big and it enables you to order a few more dishes and taste different things. I have so many favourite dishes here from the lemon and garlic chicken to the patatas bravas to the gambas pil pil to the chickpea and black pudding mix.
There is a nice terrace outside in Dundrum which is lovely to sit out and have tapas and wine on a sunny evening.
I love tapas the portions are perfect if your going out because I always find a full meal is way too heavy. The food came pretty quickly and we didn't have to wait to long to be seated, however this was mid week. They don't take reservations so not ideal for a larger group, but I would definitely recommend it all the same because the wine was delicious.
