Great food! However lacks consistency.
I visited them twice in a week since they were right next door from my hotel. The first time i ordered chicken wings and was blown away! My sole reason to visit them again. Unfortunately the wings were not that great on my second visit. Overall still a good restaurant and good selection of finger food and burgers. Be and of course they do serve Guinness.
Got the 10oz ribeye, medium. Cooked to perfection, sauce and sides were 100% aswel. Usually cost 25 Euro each but we have a highlife diners card. Buy one get one free. Service was very good aswel.
Always welcomed by lovely staff here. There's always a great atmosphere too. I went with a few friends this night so we got a few different dishes. Have to say the nachos here are unreal! Vegetarian and chicken ones are amazing and whenever I want nachos, I want these ones! The wings were fine but the sauce was very thick. The pizza was fine also, one word response was "cheesy" and the garlic bread was nothing special. I'm also a fan of the €3 student cocktails that are mon-wed with a student card. Can't go wrong ☺️
Such a great place for students as they have Monday - Friday buy one get one free when you have your social card and student card. Food is always good and staff are quiet fast. The Cajun chicken burger is a personal favourite of mine. The only downfall is if you don't book you can be waiting a while for service.
Gone here a few times for team lunches with work. Have also been a couple of times for cocktails after work :)
They do a lunch special which is €9.95 for a burger and a drink.
I always go for the Cajun chicken burger and that usually comes with fries or a salad. Today I substituted for sweet potato fries - these were v well cooked!
Huge portions, decent service and the cocktails are always good. There is a TGIs not too far away but you should try here if you're looking for a slight change...!
Lovely food, family American style restaurant, great vibes and child friendly too for people with children... Would highly recommend anyone to go here always busy but such a big restaurant your never left waiting too long for a seat 😁
Went here with my family and as usual didn't disappoint! We went for the special menu for €16! I had mozzarella cheese sticks for starts which were nice.. I halved those with my brother and he gave me some of his loaded potato skins which were delicious. I also tried a buffalo chicken wing and the spicy sauce is amazing! For the main I went with the tried and trusted lasagne which never lets me down.. Free refills on the soft drinks which is great as you always need more than one and they can be pricey! Staff are very helpful and friendly! Overall great place

Captain Americas is like a cheaper and slightly superior TGI Fridays, the food is good, not great but never fails to leave me stuffed, which I respect.
I went to Captains on the worst possible day, a Saturday. The place is packed, all the midweek deals are gone (except the starter and main for €16) and the food takes a little longer than usual to come out. I chose mozzarella sticks for my starter, which I instantly regretted as I saw my dads buffalo wings arrive, they looked so much tastier and I ate the chicken enchilada for my main which was, as usual, beautiful. The free refills on soft drinks were a nice touch and the waiter we had was very friendly and offered plenty of advice on what food to order.
So if you're heading to Captains, try go between Monday and Wednesday to make use of €3.50 pints and €3 cocktails and the buy one get one free mains. I've never left disappointed, I was just never blown away by the food. It's a solid restaurant and definitely worth the visit.
