We had a lovely visit to 'The Sweetest Thing' today. Good staff is worth their weight in gold and the two staff members working today were not just good...they were great; so friendly, efficient and helpful. The place was busy but we were well looked after and our order came down very promptly. Our party had delicious hot chocolate and coffee, fresh warm toffee muffin and chocolate and caramel cheese cake. The surrounding are very pleasant and comfortable with a vintage theme. When you are in town looking for a place to sit down and eat, it is very much 'pot luck'. Today's stopover in 'The Sweetest Thing' was a lucky find. We would recommend it and look forward to visiting again, and checking out more of the menu.
One of the best coffee shops in Dublin. I love the "Guinness Hot Chocolate" The desserts are delicious and the service is very good too. Definitely I recommend this place
If there is ever that day when you want to indulge yourself in something sweet, then this is the place you should visit. The Sweetest Thing hosts the perfect goodies on their menu, specially for people who crave a tad bit more of sugar in their diet. Neatly decorated and with friendly staff, I had this place high on my wishlist and tried some of their items on the menu. It was a divine experience.
Their carrot cake is mouth watering. I would love to go back and try some of the more items I haven't tasted. A must visit for everyone.
After a gusty, rainy afternoon of walking around looking for a particular something all over Henry Street, I decided to head home for a cuppa. And then I chanced upon this cafe, which called itself "chocolate cafe." I didn't need any more invites, so I stepped right in and got myself a mint hot chocolate. I have to say, it was simply delish! And the people were really friendly as well. I would go there again to try some of their other hot chocolate varieties for sure!
After a walk around the city (and the shops) I really needed a break. Found this small cafe just next to the river. As mocha is my favourite coffee drink, it didn’t take long for me to decide once I saw it in the menu. Sat in front of the big window, in a high chair and waited impatiently for it. There was some sweets and cakes as well, but I wasn’t hungry by that time. The chocolate mocha was served perfectly and tasted just as I imagined it! And they offer a little chocolate treat with it, what makes it even better!!! Will definitely come back and try their cakes!!!
This is a super little spot on the north keys. I stopped in for a cup of tea, and Brian managed to convince me to grab a slice of chocolate cheesecake to go with it. It was definitely a wise decision! The cake was gorgeous, matched only by the painstaking presentation with which it was served up. A lovely little cafe, with the friendliest welcome in Dublin. I'm going to find it very hard to resist popping in for some cake EVERY time I pass by from now. I highly recommend a visit.
Some days you just want to indulge your sweet tooth. It's a good thing that Dublin has the perfect Cafe for this. The sweetest thing specialises in cake and other sweet delights.
On the recommendation of the lovely man behind the counter I tried the carrot cake and it was simply divine. The cake was smooth and the sauce delectable. I will be back.
