Once again I would like to thank Michael,Dolorus, Amy and all the staff at darwins for helping us celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. As always the service was second to none, the food was outstanding (best calamari in the world and i spend a lot of time in Cyprus ) you never fail to impress and are always so good to us. Most often vegetarian dishes on the menu are just there for the sake of diversity. But Darwin's was different. The pasta of the day and the risotto that I ordered were just scrumptious! I would definitely go back there again for another round of those!
I went with family to celebrate graduation! The meal was absolutely delicious! As an avid lover of steak I had high expectations and can say I was blown away! Plenty of options on the menu for the vegetarians out there too! The service was fantastic and personal even providing a complimentary dessert to say congratulations! Definitely going back!!
Darwins on George Street just acros from Capitol. Got the early bird 6-7pm. Top class food, very reasonable price an excellent service.
For starter I had the vegetarian risotto. Absolutely beautiful, big portion too. The guys got calamari and pork to start, also very happy with their choice.
We all had steak for mains. The was no supplement for the steak and it was huge. Perfectly cooked strip loin with an abundance of garnishes and dressings in side dishes to share. Only complaint, not enough sauce but I like my steak to swim in sauce. I will be back
Baileys cheesecake. They had it in a glass which made it difficult to get cheese and biscuit in the same mouthful. Not enough biscuit either.

Darwins is a great steak house, my steak was cooked perfectly and the waiter was very helpful in helping me and my boyfriend in picking the right steak, the portions are just right and the bread and butter pudding desert was amazing, definitely worth a visit l.

Busy, busy night, I still don't know how they managed to get us a table! This is a proper steakhouse! Got the dry-aged strip loin ant it was just great. Good quality on the meat and just cooked to a perfect medium-rare.
With a steak like this, nothing else matters, however the sides were pretty good: garlic mushrooms, vegs and mash. The sauces were some of the best that I found on a steakhouse, particularly the Barolo jus, which was great on the mash, because when I get a steak as good as this, the only thing that it requires is a nice pinch of salt!
In the end I got the bread and butter pudding, which was nice but not great and a little bit dry. Sure wasn't enough to spoil a great meal, maybe next time I get the ribeye as desert :-)
This was supposed to be a seafood night but we ended up in a steakhouse! :)
Of course we had to order steaks!! I got the ribeye on the bone with garlic butter sauce and garlic mash. We also shared a couple of sides such as cabbage, mushrooms and red cabbage (some healthy stuff...).
My steak was really good, although I would like it to be a bit smaller and thicker. In fact, all the steaks were cooked to perfection as ordered. The sides were ok, nothing overwhelming but properly cooked and tasty. Finally a note to the sauces. All were really great, probably the best I have ever had in any steakhouse!
Regarding the price, I would say that you pay for what you get. Fair prices...

Had a work dinner in darwins last week and was very impressed. It is a great bistro steakhouse and it did not disappoint. The service was great, the wine list was extensive too. We had lovely red and white flowing all night for our large table- the red was the Spanish Tempranillo and the white was the French Sauvignon. The red was delightful and light enough to drink all night! I picked the prawns in chilli and garlic for starter, it was very tasty with lovely brioche and brown bread to dip in! Next up was the fillet steak. The meat was superb, I picked the garlic butter which was the nicest garlic butter Iv ever tasted, it was so creamed I had to ask for another little pot! The steak came with a small scoop of creamy mash, which was lovely. For the large table we ordered side of fat chips, buttered mushroom and onions and seasoned veg, all lovely additions! For desert I went for the bread and butter pudding which was literally divine, I love b+b pudding and it's too rare on menus I find, every bite was superb and it was a lovely big portion. The chocolate brownie was my other choice and I got to sample some but it was a lot more basic than the pudding so I'm delighted with my choice. There was also a lovely cheeseboard at the end of the meal, it was lovely with the wines. Really like this place, some of my colleagues got the rib eye 20oz on the bone and it looked spectacular, for 29 euro I'm very impressed wit the value. My 10oz fillet was perfect tho, also priced at 29 euro which is good for a fillet of that size and quality.
Hands down the best steak to value ratio I've come across in Dublin. Absolutely fabulous piece of meat, perfectly cooked, with no surcharge on a €25/2 course early bird . The staff were brilliant, even though we sorely tested them in being a very large and very very noisy group. You're all great, and we are sorry. I'll be back, if you let me.
I'm a vegetarian and that doesn't generally mix well with steakhouse menus but the food here was delicious! Not a huge veggie selection but really nice. The service was good and everyone in our group had a lovely meal.
