Love this place .. looking for unique gift items this is the place . Upstairs has a nice relaxing place to eat and drink wine by a nice big window and watch the people pass by . I love this store .
Fantastic ambience, great service and just buzzing with activity.
You can talk or just relax.
The people are so kind and friendly.
Trinity is just across the road.
So dig in !

Its sort of cafe floor overlooking the trinity college . Offering a variety of pie and salades for lunch . The blueberry cake was okay . The almond pie was much better . Place gets pretty packed ... not a very cheap option though ...
This place reminds me of bewleys. Its a self service queuing type restaurant which can be annoying when you have shopping bags but they have a lovely selection of desserts , breads , salads , sandwiches and hot food. Fast moving , fresh and very clean. Handy location and I love pottering around the kilkenny shop itself
Lovely views of the trinity grounds from the restaurant. Lots of different options to eat and are generally quite tasty. Very much a cafe feel to it, not a huge amount of atmosphere or "warmth", more of a quick pit stop.
Dropped into Kilkenny Café for lunch and the first thing I noticed was the sheer number of American senior citizens there. Kilkenny is obviously a pit stop on the packaged tour trail so be prepared to duck and dodge around tourists while you're there. Kilkenny serves primarily ready hot meals in a buffet style so don’t go in there expecting a made to order lunch. I had a salmon and cod meal with cabbage and mashed potatoes, which was decent even though the mashed potatoes had formed a cold cakey crust. That said, the service was really friendly despite the rush!
