We had a fantastic pizza meal here tonight! I am Coeliac and have been looking forward to the rare opportunity to try a Coeliac friendly GF pizza, now that the Locandina has the new GF oven.
I wasn’t disappointed! It was absolutely delicious. A light, crispy chickpea flour (gram) base with an excellent topping. I can’t believe it!
I am in total pizza heaven!
My husband had a delicious regular Hawaiian style pizza and found it delicious also.
I will certainly be coming back!
What really struck me is the dedication of Afredo to find the right ingredients and best recipes to make a truly Italian experience. And Simona could not be a better front of house, so welcoming and well
Informed.
This restaurant is modest , but a true gem. Particularly if you are Coeliac with a penchant for safe food !
Wow what an amazing hidden gems! Truly one of the best authentic Italian restaurants we have ever eaten from. You must try the Burrata starter it's delicious. Great food great service we will be back!
Me and my wife went here last night and had an amazing time and REAL authentic Italian food. It was like we stepped back to our honeymoon in Italy. We loved the cosiness of the converted house and the atmosphere was great. The food is wow. And I'm a very big eater. I had the calamari for starters and it was cooked to perfection. Many times I have had it in other restaurants and it a either over or under cooked which makes it rubbery. But not here - it was so soft and broke easily in the mouth and the outer coatings of the rings where fluffy with a tiny crunch. Soo sooo nice each mouthful was amazing and best of all it was a good portion. I didn't leave a bit. My wife had the bruschetta with salad and she said it all tasted so light and fresh - also a very generous portion. We both had the special which was tortelli with ham & vegetables in a creamy saffron sauce. It was delicious - full of flavour and substance. I had the tiramisu and my wife had the chocolate cake with liquer (I forget the Italian name) but both of them were amazing in their own ways (we tried each other's desserts). The tirimasu wasn't too strong in flavour so it's ideal for non coffee drinkers and kids too! The cake was rich but not sickly at all. Just right. I'd advise everyone to experience the restaurant at least once in your life - you won't regret it!!
