The Supper Club

This is THE place !! It's cool , it's sexy ,it's alive with banter and damn good food ! Amongst the plethora of fine dining choices on offer in Kinsale , The Supper Club will draw you back again and again ! It just feels so comfortable , so right .. It feels like home ! I love the space that Tom and Grainne have created . No fussy adornments just beautiful stylish design details that show great thought and integrity , such as the inspired ridged glass lighting ;Reflected again in the choice of glass in the enormous Windows , creating warmth and privacy . The booths upstairs !! Everyone Loves a booth !! Even the bar chairs are the bomb ! Brown stressed leather backed and cushioned ! Divine !! You can sit at the bar ,dreamy eyed, and watch the magic potions conjured up by their master barman.With names like Scilly Walk and rhubarbarella , it is indeed difficult to decide on a cocktail !! I settled on Thyme Please Folks : Thyme Absolut ,raspberries , blueberries , aromatic bitters , lime and ginger beer ! Deadly refreshing during our current hot spell ! Now we could have lingered over cocktails, Oysters , artisan cheese board or charcuterie board and easily had a perfect evening of drinks and nibbles ... But , on this evening of voracious appetite nothing would compare to my absolute favorite: 24 hour beef short ribs ,polenta arroncini (shareable )and sautéed tenderstalks of broccoli and kale . What a veritable feast ! My companion had the mushroom risotto , which was perfection ! While pondering dessert, that magician at the bar was creating 2 lemon meringue dessert cocktails , complete with proper blowtorch action on the foaming egg white ... Well ,we succumbed . Two of those please ! Still , still one can not leave without savouring the absolute dream that is the Salted Caramel Creme Brûlée ! Tom's early childhood requests for the perfect caramelised shell top , promises this to indeed be the finest in all the land ! Nothing but your lovers' sweet kisses can compare ! The Supper Club , Kinsale's Siren , will call you back again and again ... And you will come !!xx
