Brian & I had some American cousins over recently - they really loved the Open Door - we all had a lovely meal - the steaks & seafood are top knotch & staff are very welcoming and friendly- desserts superb too - the Open Door is a real asset to Killala - great to have a local restaurant cooking local ingredients- & lovely after dinner drinks in Gilvarry’s pub across the road. Highly recommend .

A wonderful place to dine. The chef/proprietor is so welcoming and so talented in the kitchen. She explains everything in a cheerful way, there is no fussy decoration on the plate and it is not required because the food speaks clearly for itself. My only regret is that this place is so far from home and we can only enjoy it on visits to The Old Deanery Holiday Cottages -another great enterprise. We will return soon.
