'Le Drunch' At the Marker Hotel a time between lunch and dinner on a Sunday afternoon.
Yesterday myself and my sister headed into The Marker for Le Drunch.
We Had a lovely afternoon and I was very impressed from start to finish. We enjoyed three courses of delicious food and sipped on cocktails throughout. The staff were very friendly always making sure we had drinks on the table. I couldn't fault anything about it. The price is quite high but it is worth it because of its such high standards.
I will hopefully be returning in the future :)
Went here last October on date night and really enjoyed it. €33 for a three course menu which good value considering the food and service were of such high quality. To start we were given plenty of bread in these small potato bags, such a nice touch. For starter I got the cured salmon and for the main I got hake on risotto. Both dishes were delicious, the fish was cooked perfectly. My favourite dish was the dessert, chai chocolate mousse with fennel seed. Ive never tried these flavour combinations before. The mousse was smooth and dense. Very enjoyable night, I wish the salmon was bigger though!
I had the "drunch" here recently which is a new take on the typical brunch that is ever so popular. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the place was surprisingly quiet. We were swiftly handed a Bellini from one of the very attentive waiting staff. For me it was a little bit on the sweet side but my friend really enjoyed it. When I saw poutine on the menu I had to try that so we had that as a starter. While the chips and pulled boar topping were perfect, there was only a very small amount of cheese which I couldn't taste. My spicy scrambled eggs were tasty but unfortunately had far too much caramelised onion which overpowered the dish. A Hendricks gin martini was a lovely refreshing finish. The food here is just almost there and with just a few tweaks things could be great.
