I would live here if I could, food is always fab from the breakfast to dinner I've never had a bad meal here! The staff are always friendly and helpful, highly recommend Montos..
Went this evening for mothers day meal and was absolutely fabulous the staff are so nice making sure we had everything and that we were alright and the food is just amazing my mother and daughter was there akso and recommend the food and staff aswell really made our day so special thank you so much to everyone at montos sundrive xx

I went here 3 times and plan to go for my 4th in the morning. This was located a convenient 30 seconds from where I was staying. The food and service were always good. My only complaint is that they like to put onion in everything, a lot of onion. I asked for my omelette without onion, and I think I got extra but I didn't have time to send it back. Ordered vegetarian penne the next meal and was surprised to find it loaded with onion when the menu only said vegetables. Both times it was possible to pick it out, and I'm sure they would have made it again, but I was in a hurry both times.
I got all my meals within 15 minutes of ordering. The restaurant is always clean. Best of all, it's very affordable! The previous comment that complains about the plates being too big misapprehends what this restaurant is. It's precisely for people like me who want to fill up on one plate for 5 to 10 Euros. If you want balanced plates for a three course meal, then go to City Centre to Dunne and Crescenzi and spend 32 Euro for a top-notch meal that will take 2-3 hours to receive and eat. Everything has its place, and for a cafe and restaurant in a not busy part of town this place does very well.
Tried it for dinner twice recently and was impressed by the very high quality of the spaghetti, tagliatelle, seafood and sauces. The coffee which I drink black to savour the taste was excellent and didn't have excessive caffeine to which I'm sensitive. The price for the main dinner course of around 10 euro is a real bargain compared to high restaurant prices in Rathmines and Ranelagh.
Monto's portions served on large plates are generous. Maybe portions like these are too generous for those of us who haven't a 'Big Feed' mentality. Chinese restaurants also serve very large portions.
From a business perspective, big portions on the main course add to costs and discourage customers from ordering starters and desserts. I'd suggest serving smaller portions on smaller plates to see if customers notice any difference, given that smaller plates make portions look larger.
Great place for breakfast and really good value! Will definitely be back! Staff very friendly, nice atmosphere. Does the basics really well!
I came here on Saturday for a bite to eat.. I've been meaning to try here for a while now as its right down the road from my boyfriend.
I opted for the caesar salad as per usual! It was such good value for money as it was only around €6, where as I usually pay between €12 to €14 in other Restaurants and the portion size was the exact same and it was extremely tasty!
It's a great place to go if you want a bite to eat and at a cheap price! I would definitely come here again and maybe try a different dish next time! :)
Love this place, normally my go to weekend breakfast saviour after a night out in town. Had a Spanish omelette today with spinach fir a change. Delish!!
I like montos for take way dishes in the evening in particular nice lasagna and pasta dishes. I think that the dine in is a little slow actually and for lunches and breakfasts you will get better across the road or 5 minutes away.
There is a BYOB policy which is nice as it allows you to have a few drinks without breaking the bank.
The prices are very fair and a wide enough menu for the evenings.
