We went here for a birthday meal with the family last weekend as I had heard great things about the steaks!

Very much a no frills place-I ordered the ribs to start and they came out literally ribs on a plate with no garnish or presentation. However they were delicious and falling off the bone. I tried the fried Brie too and this was also lovely. We all opted for steak for our mains and paid the €5.50 supplement on the earlybird menu (€20 for 2 courses which is amazing value). I went for the 10oz fillet with chips and peppercorn sauce. The sauce was my favourite thing about the meal- it was beautifully creamy and had a lovely flavour.

For desert I went for a trio of ice cream choosing chocolate, vanilla and mint chocolate. They were really good quality ice cream scoops even though I couldn't finish it ! My dad went for the creme brûlée which didn't crack on top but was lovely and creamy inside.

All in all the food was good but the service was completely off- and although the staff were friendly, they just didn't seem organised. We had to ask numerous times For a desert menu, numerous times for our bill, we had 2 bottles of wine brought over to our table at the start instead of one.
Everyone was really friendly but it just felt like it lacked a bit of waiter continuity and organisation. At one stage someone came over to see if we were OK and 2 seconds later a new person did too while we had just taken a bite of our food.
Will definitely be back though, great value early bird!

JD's is such good value for money it's a shame I can't go more often. I love this place. The prawn pil pil is delicious and comes accompanied with crusty bread. Wow!! So tasty. The chicken wings and the ribs are also super tasty. The meat just falls off the bone. On my first visit I tried the T-Bone steak (14oz I love a challenge) with mash and pepper sauce. I couldn't finish it. It was a beautiful piece of meat. Ever since then I've always opted for the fillet. It's delicious, perfect size 10 oz and always room for dessert. The menu has quite a varied choice if you feel like something other than steak, however I have yet to feel like this on any visit. The early bird runs to 7.30 every night and it's less than €20 for two courses. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for special offers - four courses for two people for just €50. Absolute bargain for top quality food. The staff are very nice too.

If you are looking for a steak JD's is the place to go. Have been here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are amazing and the service is quality. The early bird menu is fantastic value and runs till 7.30.

Lovely athmosphere and was welcomed with a smile. Started with the BBQ ribs, followed by a T-bone steak cookeed to perfection finishes off with a beautifully fresh banoffie pie! Can't fault this place, great local restaurant and I'd recommend it to anyone.
