Wonderful Espanyol .... If like the spinach spicy food try Gambas àl Pil Pil. If garlic is you flavour then your chair is booked here.
Gracias gracias for such restaurant.
Try their desert and will never be sorry.

Came here with a friend and we got 5 tapas to share. All were delicious, the best I’ve had in Dublin!

We got fresh fingers of cod which were light and came with an amazing mint pea puree.

The prawns with chorizo were spicy and really flavoursome.

I was unsure about getting a salad as I thought it might be very small, but the La Bodega salad was massive! Rocket leaves, warm goat’s cheese, toasted nuts, jambon, sliced apple and mustard dressing. It was served warm and was amazing.

The baked rice with chicken, chorizo, pancetta and black pudding had so much flavour- definitely get this.

The flatcap mushroom stuffed with ratatouille and topped with cheese was a surprisingly big portion and was my favourite dish overall.

It all came really quickly, the staff were lovely and there was no feeling of being rushed at all. Finished it off with a mocha as I was stuffed- two would probably have been enough each and then I could have fit in a desert! Will be back very soon!

Can't wait to go back again! Excellent quality food for the price it is at. Also some portions of tapas were great to share. Stuffed after the meal. Great friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere and every table full. We had mushroom bread, prawns, patatas bravas, chicken, and a goats cheese salad. The waitresses were very accommodating to do anything down to dressings on the side. Looking forward to the next visit!

I've been taking my time to write this review because WOW, amazing! I loved every bit of it. I came for dinner with one of the girls on a Friday evening. We just walked in without a reservation and the hostess kindly seated us right away.

The restaurant is big enough, in a good spot in Ranelagh. The lights were dimmed so it'd be a good place for a date! The tables are close together, but spaced well enough apart, so you don't feel like you're joining those beside you for dinner, something I hate!

The menu has so many options we didn't know what to go for. We chose the meatballs, prawn pil pil, croquettes and, on our waitress' recommendation, the chicken kebabs.

The meatballs were in a generous amount of sauce with cheese on top and full of flavour. Prawn pil pil I think is always difficult to get wrong so was lovely, with a good few prawns too! The croquettes were very good, the cheese not stringy, which would turn me off immediately, and the amount of bacon perfect. The kebabs were so good, the opposites of dry or plain, which can be an issue I find regularly with chicken skewers! (Sorry for no chicken kebab pic, they were so good they were gone before we thought to take one!)

The dessert is what made my meal. Churros with melted chocolate for dipping on the side, AMAZING. I just wanted to order more!

I really recommend this place for when you're not too hungry or if you don't know what you want to eat. You can get a few tapas to share with a glass of wine and its very well priced! I always feel tapas can be too expensive for what you're getting. I will definitely be back here, the staff are very helpful, not too pricey and of course the food!!

I love my tapas food and this is one of the best ones iv been to! It's a great option for big groups as you can order loads of small dishes and get to try different things. The goats cheese & sun dried tomato balls w/honey and the chorizo patatas bravas are delicious, the meatballs and prawn tempura are also worth trying.
Great value too, a feast for 5 people and bottle of wine was around €110. This place is usually busy at the weekends so recommend booking to avoid disappointment!

WOWWWW!!! I knew this place was going to be good but I was sooo impressed!! I felt like I was actually in Spain. It's a gorgeous little restaurant and great value.
I believe the tapas all round are delicious. We were spoilt for choice with a great menu. Prawns pil pil were just as good/almost better than what I've had in Spain. The croquettes were so tasty and cheesy! Gorgeous chicken skewers bursting with flavour- i find that some places find it difficult to not make them too dry and plain. The meatballs were my favourite. They had the perfect amount of spice and cheese with them. A generous portion of all tapas, considering the prices.
It is the perfect place to come to for something light when you aren't sure what you'd like to eat. Some of the tapas are also accompanied with a lovely salad. Our dessert just completely topped it off for me- the churros with warm dark chocolate sauce. OMG ... I officially love churros!!!

I will definitely be returning. 😍

Tapas is such a fantastic way to eat that it is hard to do badly. That being said, it is tricky to create an all-round excellent tapas restaurant but La Bodega have a winning formula.

The atmosphere is intimate and personal without being too quiet and discreet. The wine menu is well considered with a number of excellent 'tintos' - i recommend the Rioja that is a deep red full of flavour and strength.

The food portions are well sized and equally well balanced. Try the Gambas al ajillo, croquetas, chorizo, and queso frito (fried goats cheese). If looking to drop in for a class of wine and a snack get a tabla of ham , you will not be disappointed.

Really simple Spanish food done superbly.

Was having a mid week catch up with a friend so we choose la bodega as we wanted somewhere relaxed with a chilled atmosphere. Decor and lighting is really nice and creates great ambience. Staff were friendly and helpful. Tapas were nice but not the best I've had. I think they are slightly overpriced but then again it is located in Ranelagh. We had patata bravas, black pudding and chorizo baked rice, prawn pil pil, whole sardines and toasted bread with tomato. Drinks were 2 glasses of house red and just water for me. I recommend to order bottles water as their tap water doesn't taste great. Bill came to 46.80. Overall is was a lovely evening and the place was packed by the time we left. If I was drinking you could easily sit there all night drinking wine and talking s***e.

One of best tapas restaurants in Dublin (as good if not better than tapas de lola). Great atmosphere with live music on weekends. Sardinas a la plancha (Sardines), Gambas al pil pil (prawns) , Chorizo al vino, Rinones al Jarez (lamb kidneys) and Buey a la Rusa are my favorites. You need on average 3 tapas per person but better share and try as much as you can. They have a good selection of Spanish wines as well.
