I’m not one for writing reviews, but felt I had to on this occasion. Not just because of our hugely positive experience, but because I’m so surprised to see any non-excellent reviews.
I went last night with a friend. We ordered wine, cured meats plate & separate cheese plate from the cheese counter. Wow! The girl behind the cheese counter took great time to prepare our plate with different/unusual cheeses & was so friendly & sweet. The wine was gorgeous - €10 corkage isn’t bad - & when we ran out of bread I went to buy more & staff insisted no charge. Absolutely love this place. I had been once before & sat/ordered in restaurant area - equally positive experience with fantastic American waiter. I also collected takeaway for a dinner party one night & have recommended it to friends & will continue to do so. Kudos for running such a great place 👍🏼

My daughter and I went for brunch here yesterday, before flying home, following a wonderful few days in Dublin. The food, service and atmosphere was really welcoming. On entering there is a sign telling you where to wait to be seated. A lovely Irish waitress approached us immediately, explained the system and we opted for full table service and sat around the open kitchen/bar area. We were very well attended to and enjoyed our experience.
After watching other customers struggle though, I can empathise with other reviews. The system can be confusing, as the hostess is not available enough as she is so very busy calling out and organising order numbers for the self service area of dining. I watched on as the busy lunchtime peaked and it felt simply that the staff are over stretched and the system could be definitely be simplified.
Dollard and Co deserve to succeed and I will definitely be returning on my next visit.
