I don't give five stars easily but this place is superb! We went here tonight for dinner and ordered a fish and chips and the beef. We were seated by a lovely brown haired young woman who immediately offered us a highchair when she noticed our baby. She returned promptly with menus and took our order. The place itself was spacious but cosy. It is very much a traditional pub with plenty of room for families. Our food came and I was pleasantly surprised by my fish and chips. The portion size was generous but the quality was very high. My batter was perfect, the fish itself soft and fresh but the chunky homemade chips were to die for!! I would return again for those alone. I had a lovely salad, tartar sauce and mushy peas with my dish. The tartar sauce was exquisite but I did not particularly like the mushy peas although the little miniature bucket it came in was adorable! A male waiter brought our water and asked if we were all okay. He was very kind and attentive to our baby as was the lovely waitress. Some staff come across as fake when they are paying you attention but these two were very kind and sincere. What lovely staff!!! We then shared a jelly and ice cream for dessert and the waitress even put cream and sprinkles on top. These small touches are what makes all the difference for me. A lovely barman asked was everything okay as we paid and I can assure him and you all that indeed it was. I genuinely had a lovely experience from start to finish and am highly impressed. Great value for money. Excellent, friendly staff. Lovely clean place. Delicious food. Would we return? 100‰ yes and we cannot wait!

Had a family meal here for xmas fri nite. Party of 10. Absolutely everything was gorgeous!! Massive choice on the menu, we all had something different! Lovely presentation. Staff wer so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble! Highly recommend the sweep bar for food and a great atmosphere! Will def be returning!

I ordered food for a family event from the lads and ladies at the sweep and I have to say everything about it was fantastic, lovely tasty food and fantastic service also great value for money ... would highly recommend the sweep to go to enjoy food or if you need an event catered for. Very happy customer

Was there today 1st June. The fish burger ,,,,, Devine. Told the waitress & then she informed me the chef is putting it on menu for Sunday. Yummy yummy

Had a meal here yesterday evening with 3 friends and it was just beautiful had the potato skins for starters they were fabulous then had the spare ribs and plenty of them they were also fabulous and then my desert of berry crumble custard and cream was beautiful.. will definitely be back the staff are so nice and very helpful .. then we were treated to a lovely trad session .. If you are passing by the Sweep you should call in and try the good food 🥘
