What a fabulous spot! We spent a lovely summers evening at The River Cafe in Shannonbridge yesterday. What a treat it was, the food was delicious, in particular, their chicken goujons are the most tender I have ever eaten. The setting is lovely, on the banks of the River Shannon, located in a beautiful old historical fort building that also has some quirky gifts for sale. The staff were friendly and helpful, ‘Maryanne’, our waitress was fantastic, and Fergal, the owner was very welcoming. Make sure you stop and enjoy this beautiful cafe on your road trip, it’s in a truly lovely village with breathtaking views.
Stopped for lunch on a hot sunny day, food was top class and staff very chatty and friendly. Lots of customers coming and going, which is always a good sign. I sat outside looking out across the Shannon, great spot. Drop in u won’t regret it

My husband and I had a lovely lunch in the River Cafe last week. Great food, fantastic staff, good good coffees and a relaxed atmosphere. Well done River Cafe!!
