Consistently great food and service. It's by far my favourite restaurant in Howth. We were here on Saturday night, and yet again the food wowed me. Started with the Buffalo Prawns which as always were so delicious. Went for the Crab and seafood cannelloni for mains (a first for me) and it certainly didn't disappoint. The service is always spot on, the lovely staff always make you feel so welcome and at ease. Highly recommend the Oar House if you have never been.

This place is a little bit special. 13 of us booked for lunch today. We arrived 30 minutes early and it was not a problem. Our table was ready and we were made very welcome. The staff were outstanding, friendly and professional. It was obvious they all genuinely enjoyed working there, great atmosphere. A special mention to Emer Rooney, couldn't do enough for us. The food was fabulous, we had so much to choose from, everyone was impressed so we all had to sample each other's food. You can book a private room upstairs if you prefer but we loved being in the main restaurant, soaking up the atmosphere and amazing views. We will be back , put it on your list of places to eat

After reviewing the menus of several of the restaurants along the street out group of 8 chose to the Oar House. Sat outside on the beautiful patio and started with an appetizer of a dozen oysters that were delicious! The combo of mussels, crab claws and prawns was in a wonderfully flavorful sauce with nice toasted bread on the side. The crab claws were large and the prawns nicely grilled. We also had several at the table who chose the special of the mixed grill of trout, sea bass and mackerel. Very good as well but the oysters and mussels/crab claws were the high points. Would definitely recommend this restaurant but get there early - definitely gets crowded!

Fabulous food, little on the expensive side but food was worth it . Certainly will be back and will recommend to friends. Try the buffalo chips they are one of the best sides ive ever had- don't know why they are not "a thing" in other restaurants!

Great place, great food, great service... one can say it is a bit expensive, but it’s worth it! And the quality does not vary between seasons as it can be the case for some places in Dublin...

Finally a place offering some food with nothing fried or roast or pie. We really enjoyed our food. Thx for that! Best food at the end of our trip we like used to eat and a moderate price.

Went here yesterday for lunch and already planning on returning to try more of the menu. Had the calamari, oysters and Fish Soup. Superb food which does not compromise on quality, friendly and professional staff in a rustic nautical setting. Have been to a few restaurants in Howth and this is my new favourite. Will be recommending. Thanks again. Will be back soon! :)

Fresh fish...? More than fresh! The biggest and freshest Fish and Chips I've ever eaten ( I shared it with my son ). Only one tip: why not some more Italian wine labels?
