Tried Japanese in a restaurant for the first time. I think it was authentic enough, though maybe not as good as my friends made! If you love trying out different cuisines, Wagamama is the place to go for Japanese food.
I love this chain. The dundrum branch gives consistently well cooked dishes. Fried food is dry, crisp and well drained (I had the the breadcrumb prawns). The duck gyoza are particularly delish.
The most surprising thing about this resteraunt is the quality of their beef. I had the massaman and nearly cried when i took the first bite. Honestly some of the softest beef I've ever had in my life - and from a chain! The massaman overall was creamy and delicious.
Portion sizes are large and filling. Service is fast and food comes as soon as it is plated. Staff are a bit meh. Most of them are friendly enough but there was one grumpy cow with dark hair who was collecting plates who was particularly moody/ off putting.
Price point is middling. Cost me around 23 quid for starter, main and a drink. Water comes free with every meal so drinks aren't particularly necessary.
Atmosphere is trendy, bright. Perfect for midday eating. Maybe not the most romantic place for couples.
Overall the highest quality food you will get from a chain. Only thing holding back 5* is the grumpy staff.
Sometimes the food here is fantastic and others it's disappointing. I haven't quite decided if this is down to the dish or the chef on the day!
The last day I went here I ordered off the lunch menu. I felt cold that day and needed a bit of heat in me so decided to go for a ramen. They had the chicken ramen as an option and I asked the girl if I could get the chilli version and I'd pay whatever extra. She said that was no problem and no extra charge. I also got green tea which was complimentary and I got an extra portion of mini dumplings off the lunch menu. The dumplings were delicious as was the ramen. I seemed to have a lucky day! I'd rate it higher only for the time before when I went I got a rice dish which I found extremely bland and lacklustre!
Really nice food. Would recommend the bento. Staff were friendly and service was great. Really nice place for lunch wit a few girls and would certainly go again
A basic place to come to for a very casual meal... Good place to catch up with friends. Staff here were extremely polite. Food was decent. The main fault here is that they only serve meals as they are ready, so no meals are brought to the table at the same time and I waited a few minutes after my sister for mine. This causes the food to go cold and is a bit disappointing.
My sister got the chicken katsu curry and I got the teriyaki chicken noodles. There is great choice on the menu!
I'm a very loyal costumer of wagamama dundrum it's my favourite place to eat after a full day of shopping !
The service is amazing and so fast and all the staff members are so friendly and chatty !
I get the same thing everytime I go to wagamama the chili chicken salad ! It's amazing and so filling and there isn't one ounce of guilt attached to it because it's so healthy ! It's just the right amount of spice for me but if you were looking for more you could add chili oil ! The chicken and veg are warm and the lettuce is cold but it doesn't lack any flavour !!
I highly recommend wagamama dundrum and all the wagamama restaurants for a casual dining experience in a sophisticated atmosphere.
We had a €40 voucher so we used it all up! I had a pad Thai which I felt was lacking meat - felt like it was pure carbs but I was starving and so devoured it. Steven had a prawn curry which was fab!! The starters of chicken skewers were disappointing, poor quality meat and as we left them until the end of our meal the sauce had changed to a tar like sauce :( service and staff were great :)
Wagamama for me is touch and go because I feel that nothing is ever consistent but this was the first occasion that I actually enjoyed my experience. I had a Pad Thai with chicken and a side of prawn crackers with peanut sauce (which was delicious). It was cheap, cheerful and super handy after a hard day of shopping.
See you soon Wagamama!
Wagamamas is a great spot to pop in and get something quick when shopping. I usually stay fairly safe when ordering and stick to the same two dishes - Teriyaki soba and Kastsu curry, neither of which I can fault. Always leave very full and satisfied. The food always comes very quick also. Good value for money. Would recommend if you're looking for something casual.
Popped into Wagamama's tonight with my bf as we didn't feel like cooking after the bank holiday!for drinks my bf got a pint of tiger and I got a lovely refreshing homemade lemonade infused with lemongrass. Being an indecisive person the waiter even offered to change it for free if I didn't like it. To start we shared pork bulgogi which was extremely tender. My bf had yaki soba for his main and loved how it was filled with veg and perfectly cooked noodles. I had the pad Thai with prawns and chicken. It was delicious, only downside was I had to go on a hunt to find the prawns. The meal in total came to €42 which was pretty acceptable!
Wagamama is a great place for fast, fresh and healthy(ish) food. I went to the Dundrum restaurant and really enjoyed my food. I started with Chicken Goyza, I think I may have a goyza obsession and these were delicious - so full of flavour. For mains I was trying to keep it on the healthy side and instead of opting for Ramen, I tried the chicken Itame - the difference being they add coconut milk and it feels more like a curry than a soup. It was so good, it had fresh veg, chicken, noodles with a kick of chilly in a fragrant coconut broth. Both the Goyza and Itame came to €21 which is good value.
Next on my list is to try the Wagamama Ramen! I would highly recommend Wagamama for fast and healthy food in Dundrum as I would often go to Eddie Rockets for fast food and now this will be my new haunt!
Great place if your looking to get nice food in a hurry. We bought a voucher on a deals website and went on a Friday evening. Got chicken dumplings to start and a curry for main, both tasted great. Our main courses were already out before we had time to finish our starters. The staff are great and helpful with re impending dishes, but I would have preferred of the service was a bit slower.
If you love Asian food Wagamama's is definitely something for you. To me it has the feel of a fancier fast food place rather than an actual restaurant. Having that said, the one in Dundrum is much nicer compared to the one in town. The Chicken Firecracker is lovely and the staff are efficient and friendly. One thing that bugs me is that the food doesn't come together but get sent out when it's ready...
