Really great place to visit before a match if you're coming from the south side and for summer time drinks people tend to spill out on the sidewalk where you have a good view of the canal. O'Briens also have live music on the weekends.
M O'Briens is a great pub by the canal on leeson st. Every evening there seems to be people spilling out onto the street, particularly if there's a bit of summer sun. Great pints of guinness, and there's always a good buzz about the place. An equally perfect venue either for a few drinks to start the night, or to settle-down for the long haul.
Great pub with a tremendous atmosphere, busy and lots of people drinking outside catching the last bit of the sun. Good bar service and a great restaurant upstairs which I believe is separate from the bar! Perfect place for a pint of plain!
A couple of friends and I went to M. O’Brien’s for after work drinks on a Monday evening. It was my first day in Dublin and since I was dying for a Guinness, my local Dubliner colleague mentioned that M. O’Brien’s has one of the best pours in the city. I soon realized that my colleague wasn’t messing around – in existence for over 100 years, M. O’Brien’s seemed like it knew what it was doing. The pour was indeed great and it was nice to see families laughing and conversing over pints of their own. I hear there’s live music towards the end of the week, which I’d definitely like to check out.
