Stopped by with a friend who was visiting from New York and was surprised that they had her favourite cocktail - a Pornstar Martini; on the menu. We just had drinks and sweet potato fries to snack on (not great) but a perfect central location for a drink after shopping all day.

I have been to Harry's on the green a few times and visited last night for some cocktails.

When I've eaten there before, it's pretty standard bar food. Nice but nothing to shout about.

It reminds me of the prohibition era with big Art Deco features on the bar. The cocktails are lovely, though I don't know how they would rank with some of the other cocktail bars in the city.

Service was super friendly but a little slow

A hot hearty Irish stew for lunch to warm up on a cold windy Dublin day. Did exactly what it said on the tin - no more no less. €10 for the plate and €5 for the pint.

Was here with the girls recently for some cocktails. We all went for completely different types and they were all lovely. The staff are so nice I asked the barman to make up a gin based cocktail for me and the effort he went to was lovely. It was absolutely delicious and garnished beautifully!

Love coming here for lunch and a few cocktails! They have a great lunch deal on that only cost €9.95 until 3 o'clock... You can pick from a good variety of food from paninis, soup, chips etc. And you also get a soft drink too!

I was no stranger to Harry’s on the Green when I was invited to the establishment last Thursday evening to join a lovely group of eleven lively ladies for a Cocktail Masterclass and my first ever Zomato Meet Up (I’m a ‘Big Foodie‘ you see). I’d tasted Harry’s cocktails, sipped on his beers, nibbled on his finger food and watched the world go by from his small but ideally placed people watching beer garden before. However I hadn’t been there for a Cocktail Masterclass so I was excited to see what Harry’s had in store for me, and to meet my new friends.

I’ve said it before; and I’ll be the first to admit – I’m a cocktail snob (see: my review of The Blind Pig for context). This snobbiness comes with its own brand of judgement and dismissive comments such as “Oh, they “do” cocktails, do they? I’m sure…”

However, as 12 of us stood there, sipping a glass of gin, balsamic and basil we all agreed – we got this one wrong. We were quick to judge, had almost written it off before we came through the door – but Harry’s On The Green blew us away.

I was wrong, and I’m so glad I was.

You couldn’t get more central in Dublin than this. Buried under Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, victim of it’s neighbour’s sport-bar-reputation, Harry’s On The Green was not on my radar as any sort of a cocktail destination; I’d never been there until I was invited to a cocktail making class there and this is when I realised what I had been missing.

When I say I learned a lot that evening I mean I learned a lot – not just about cocktails, but about how the staff create their own bitters, extracts, essences and tinctures; but also about my own mixology misconceptions.

From the ultra-bubbly Bellini of Moet champagne with passion fruit caviar, made on site; to the mango and chilly margarita rimmed with Himalayan rock salt that re-ignited my love for tequila (after years of ill-advised shots in my youth ruined it or me). This was cocktails as they should be. Served with passion, creativity and pizzaz – now, when’s the last time we heard that word?

The Cocktail Class package we were a part of was much more than the tactless hen party fiascos that mix up a couple cosmos and sickly sex on the beaches; this is a far more sophisticated affair. Each cocktail was paired with accompanying canapes to be enjoyed as you proudly savoured your creation. I could see this as the perfect idea for a work outing or team building night, because while you’ll be merry by the end; you ‘ll be far from blotto. If the traditional ladette-style hen party doesn’t appeal to you, this is the ticket. Terribly classy all together.

On the bus home I immediately text my sister, who’s been pining for a Sisters Night Out for weeks, and told her I had our first stop. The underground retreat is much bigger than you could ever imagine from street level, with copious amounts of tables, booths and corners for enjoying a Strawberry & Amaretto Sour in your best car-to-bar shoes. It strikes me as the kind of place you can really enjoy a drink in good company, or get a group together to get a drinks in and share a few platters; whatever you need it to be – Harry’s has got it.

Prices are incredibly reasonable for the craft that’s put into each drink, at only €10.50 for a majority of the menu – a far cry from the premium prices of their peers, yet on par if not beyond their capabilities.

Hands up, I completely underestimated this place – but being proven wrong never tasted so good. I also now make a mean margarita.

Had an absolutely amazing evening here with the Zomato meet- up, but then when can cocktail making courses ever not be amazing? Barmen were incredibly skilled and passionate about their cocktails and took time to explain everything to us. The canapés were delicious and I'm very curious to try the rest of their menu. Prior to this event I would never have thought of Harrys for cocktails but now is a firm favourite of mine!

Fancy a cocktail? Mid Week? After work? At the Weekend? After Shopping? How about Mid-Shopping ... now that's what I'm talking about ... Absolutely Fabulous ... all the booze but with more class ... of course!
I'd been to Harry's on the Green before and enjoyed a tipple and some food there. My preference when I'm on my own is to sit outside with a coffee and people watch, play on my phone or decide where next to shop.
Last Thursday I was one of a group of lively but classy lively ladies who ventured to Harry's on the Green for a Masterclass in Cocktail Making. I'd been to a cocktail making class before (on a hen's party) but not at Harry's so I kind of knew what to expect, or so I thought. However I have to say that I was more that impressed and pleasantly surprised with how our class went.
Firstly we had our own bar. Secondly there wasn't a 'Sex on the Beach' in sight (not that I don't enjoy one of those the odd time). Thirdly the passion and knowledge that our mixologists showed us was fantastic. Finally the food that was paired with our cocktails were delcious. Duck canapes with Mai Tai Cocktails - perfect!
I'm looking forward to returning to Harry's and can highly recommend a Cocktail Making class with them :)

I have always avoided Harry’s on the Green thinking oh it wouldn’t be great sure it’s under the shopping center stroll to South William Street instead. I was wrong; it is lovely with big booths, dim lighting and swanky décor. I was lucky enough to be at a cocktail making masterclass with all the ladies.

They explained that each cocktail was created to compliment the canapés that the chef had made which comprised of prawn chili lettuce tacos, duck and chorizo bites and crab meat wrapped in smoked salmon. They were all equally delicious which made it hard to resist eating the entire platter.

They also brought a greasy platter at the end of the class when we were finishing our cocktails, this was great nice soakage with real chipper chips, onion rings, sausages, spring rolls and of course garlic sauce. It would be the perfect platter for a work event.

On to the show! The barmen were all brilliant at showing and explaining each step in making the different cocktails, some of it felt like I was back in science class that you drank champagne at :) In between cocktails the barmen were very attentive answering our hundred and one questions about how different liquors are made, showing us there mini brews of walnut bourbon and explaining how mixology competitions work. (And yes they have won a number) They really know their stuff and don’t doubt any of it, we were all a bit wary of the gin, basil and balsamic vinegar reduction cocktail but it was my favorite of the four we made.

I would recommend coming to Harrys with the ladies or a date. I will be going back for the giant G&T’s and another balsamic cocktail.

Cocktails cocktails cocktails! I'm so sick of bars selling cheap, sickly sweet, bottle bought cocktails to the Irish party goer, it weakens the cocktail mastery and puts you off ever drinking cocktails anywhere! This is why I was so impressed with Harry's, everything was made with love, the cocktails were created from fresh ingredient, from tinctures and liquors that the bar men had created themselves!

I went to a cocktail masterclass here and was initially dubious as I didn't know much about Harry's, nor its experience in cocktail making. I was pleasantly surprised as the venue exceeded my expectations. The group were invited to the top bar where we met our mixologists. We started with a glass of champagne with mango pearls! I was delighted as I watched the little balls twirl around my glass with the champagne bubbles! We then got down to business and made 3 cocktails with the help from the bar man; we were taught measurements, how to use the equipment, the history of the drinks, the reasons behind the mixtures themselves. Between each drink we clapped as the guys showed off their flaring skills and taught us about how rum is made, why a cognac is the way it is and all the intricacies of the cocktail and liquor world.
The cocktails had the wow factor, balanced, fresh, full on layers of flavours. Each cocktail was then matched to a canapé , it was a true tasting experience.

I was thrilled by the expertise of the bar men and sad that I hadn't been I here before. I can't see myself enjoying a cocktail anywhere else after drinking that sort of quality. Come for booze and stay for friendly banter and relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. A must go! 🍸🍹🍴

What a night! I was lucky enough to take part in a Cocktail Making Masterclass last Thursday evening and I was HUGELY impressed. The staff really take great pride in what they do & they really opened my eyes to the whole art of cocktail making.

The guys thought us to create the most unusual yet beautiful cocktails. I was a bit hesitant of the last one to be honest when they had us teaming up basil with balsamic vinegar...but these guys truly know their stuff because it was absolutely delicious!

Harry's went the extra mile with the the canapes. They teamed each dish to compliment each cocktail - all were divine and went down a huge treat.

I would highly recommend paying Harry's on the Green a visit. I will be returning anyway and I will be bringing ALL MY FRIENDS!

This was by far, one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever had in a bar. The cocktails were so different and it really opened my mind about the science behind the ingredients in a cocktail. I turned my nose up to balsamic vinegar in a cocktail until last night.

The canapés complimented each cocktail perfectly. There wasn't one thing that I could fault. We had everything from prawns to duck and nothing disappointed.

The staff were all so lovely and really knew the ins and outs of each cocktail. They explained each ingredient to us and put on a 'Tom Cruisey' type of bottle throwing show.

I can't recommend Harry's enough. It's definitely worth arranging a cocktail night there with your friends. I will see you soon Harry's 👌🏼👏🏼👋🏼

I have to say that Harry's is an absolutely fantastic cocktail bar. A bit of a hidden gem as you wouldn't expect it looking from the outside in. They have a big menu so there are so many cocktails to chose from. They also do a great cocktail making master class which I was lucky enough to enjoy. The barmen put on such a show and you can see how they really know their stuff! They pay such great attention to detail in each and every cocktail. Each one looks like a mini work of art. I will definitely be returning.

Iv’e been to Harrys on the Green many times and am always impressed by the quality of their cocktails. I’ve also had a chat with one of the barman who makes them and he told me about spending 3-4 hours making ginger juice to add to cocktails. A slow time consuming process but fresh from the source and tastes so much better he told me.

The only downside to their cocktails is the sheer range on offer. I’ve probably worked my way through a quarter of them over a few visits at this stage. Every now and then the bar also appears on a groupon site, and if you regularly read this blog you will know I’m a groupon junkie. It’s a great way to try out new places without having to default on your mortgage. When they recently came up I jumped at the chance of getting 3 cocktails for €12. In fact I bought two of them. The only thing better than 3 cocktails is 6 cocktails.

Here’s a quick rundown on the cocktails I shared on a sunny Sunday afternoon with H and my sister. First up a Cucumber and Elderflower Collins. Gin based (Bombay) with fresh cucumber, lemon juice, elderflower liqueur and topped with soda water. Light and refreshing but maybe not for someone who doesn’t care for gin.

The Dark ‘n’ Stormy was next. Bacardi based with fresh ginger juice, lime juice, ginger ale and topped with Goslings dark rum. This one was much stronger. My sister is a Bacardi fan so she was impressed. with it.

A Bizzy Lizzy was next. Raspberry infused Eristoff vodka, Finlandia grapefruit vodka, elderflower liqueur, strawberry syrup, cranberry bitters, fresh cranberry and lemon juice. I have to say, despite it tasting incredible I reckon I could only manage one of these as its terribly sweet.

The General Chow. Coconut infused Bacardi Superior rum, Chambord black raspberry liqueur, fresh passion fruit, banana, lime wedges and chunks of pineapple. A fantastic mix of ingredients which made it the perfect Summer has returned cocktail.

Now this bad boy was the creme da le creme of cocktails for me. Called the Ferrero Rocher, you just know its going to taste good. Eristoff vodka, white chocolate liqueur, barley malt extract, roast hazelnut syrup and a chocolate wafter rim. Basically its like drinking a Ferrero Rocher. Unlike Ferrero Rocher however you may not be able to have about 6 or 7 in a row, for health reasons.

Last on the list was the Pornstar Martini. Aptly named because it is obscenely good. Vanilla infused Eristoff vodka, fresh passion fruit, passion fruit purée, passion fruit syrup and bubbles. A triumph is all I will say.

We ate in Harry's on the Green last Friday night. Rang last minute for a reservation and they were extremely accommodating. We were given a raised booth facing down towards the bar - perfect to see all that was happening. Service was friendly and efficient. I went for the chicken stir fry which was tasty, but my friend went for the chicken fajitas which looked divine. I would definitely return but perhaps during the day is more suitable for a meal, as it was quite loud making it difficult to maintain conversation. Great spot for drinks - extensive cocktail menu!

Went here for dinner with a few friends last night. We had a great centre booth raised table so we could watch all that was happening! I had the poached pear and goats cheese salad with chicken, it was nice. My friends all enjoyed their meal and the wine was delish!  I would go back here for drinks as there's a good buzz about the place and they have an extensive cocktail menu.
