Situated in Drumcondra, this place is very ideal for a relaxing dinner and hard to miss. I went there with a few friends and had the nicest evening. The ambiance was very good and the staff was very courteous. I have to say, I was very impressed with the overall decor and the behavior of everyone in the restaurant. I had ordered the pork chops which was delicious indeed. The meat came in good portions and were perfectly cooked. I could feel the fat melt in my mouth which created the ultimate blend of flavors.
I had a pint of Heiniken beer with that.
For dessert, I had the warm chocolate brownie which was heavenly!
Overall, this place hosts good food along with good value for money. I would love to visit Ivy House again and I recommend this place to everyone who are yet to try.
This is a handy spot for a casual night, a first date, sports or a few before continuing the night in town. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. The ivy also serve good decent pub food which always hit the spot with a few drinks. Portions are generous and at a reasonable price.
I've came here for dinner not long ago and I opted for the early bird menu which is very reasonable priced at €19.95 for a 3 course meal with a complementary drink..
For my starter i got the soup of the day, for my main I got the Cajun chicken fillet with was extremely tasty and filling and then for the desert I got my favourite warm chocolate brownie, it was absolutely delicious!
The ivy house is a nice place to go for date night, a drinks with friends or even a family dinner! It's a place the suits all occasions really :) it's nice and cosy and I love coming here around Christmas time! The staff are so friendly and attentive I really couldn't fault them..!
Very tasty food and fantastic value for money. There is a menu that is ran throughout the day until around 5 o'clock, the menu has a great selection of different dishes. I decided to go for the steak sandwich which was delicious, this comes with a side of chips. Each main course comes with a free drink, I went for a pint of tiger. That's a steak sandwich and a pint for €8. Couldn't bate that.
This is a great first date spot. It's cruisey and has good lighting (ya know that really nice candlelit-makes-you-look-like-a-ride type of lighting?)
The staff are lovely. You can order drinks on a tab so it's not awkward with the whole "oh no, il go to the bar, what would you like" type of situation. The wine list is great. The food is lovely (plenty of first date dishes such as penne pasta and things you can eat without looking like you face planted the plate.) You can sit on the benches close to the door if it's a Tinder date (easy escape route.) All in all, the food is lovely, the staff are friendly and it has well lit exit signs. 👌🏼👋🏼
Nice pub to chill out on a Sunday, quite big so nearly always get a table. They also have a section at the back just for the restaurant. God to grab a bite, watch the match, meet friends. Also good spot if ya don't fancy heading into town on the weekend. The food is decent . The chicken wings are a must always delicious. Would also recommend the fish and chips. They have a great selection of beer and wines. Staff are friendly, what more do ya need in a local.
Great spot, I usually come here for after work drinks with colleagues, really nice pub very spacious an chilled vibe! I would recommend visiting here if your looking for a nice casual night out!
I've been going to the Ivy House for years. It's great for a casual bite to eat to catch up with friends. The wings are amazing! And perfect for sharing, very generous portion sizes. The club sandwich and the burgers are also very tasty. There's plenty of choice and there's great offers of a free drink with some mains. Late bar on the wkends and always good fun if there's sports on.
This is the new usual location of the college lunches! It's a really nice place with friendly staff. Really good bar menu for 8.95 with a choices of drink! Went for the Ivy burger and I was not disappointed! Will definitely be back here!
Went here in the hope of watching City smash United at Old Trafford, but I was left miserable surrounded by United fans, thank god the Ivy made up for the depressing result!
It's the little things that made me love this place so much, the pint glasses being stored in fridges so your drink is ice cold, €10 pitchers of Fosters and tons of TV or projectors around the place so you won't miss anything, seriously there's TV's everywhere. I also got some chips with garlic sauce and I have to say it was probably the nicest pub food I've ever had. You need to visit this place just for the food sweet Jesus it's beautiful!
Overall it was a great day, the atmosphere was good, the place was nice and it wasn't expensive in the slightest. I'd recommend it to everyone!
We Walked into the cat and cage and were told "no lunch today folks". I don't care if the head sandwich maker is getting his stomach pumped after a 3 day binge, you get someone in that kitchen. Well, the ivy house was the next stop and I can't stress enough the value for money. Fish&chips, steak sambo, club sandwich or burger all with a healthy tin of chips and an alcoholic drink for €8.95. It baffles me as to how their money is made. The cheapness may seem too good to be true, giving the impression that the food is as tacky as the cat and cage down the road, but I shit you not as the quality is top drawer.
Well well well, if it isn't the new kid on the block. I've always been aware of the Ivy's presence it's always been lurking in the background. It's been there and it's waited and waited for its opportunity and that came about last Monday the 9/03/15. The Cat and Cage made a silly mistake and broke the hearts of many. I still remember the sheer disappointment, the horror "No lunch" she whispered but she may as well of shouted with a mega phone it was deafening and a crippling blow to myself. The Ivy seemed so far away but it was all we had left. And it did not disappoint. The menu solid. The music great. The staff pleasant. The food fantastic. The potato melt seemed a curious choice which I thought maybe I dived in too soon. But I had committed and I stuck to my guns. I had no regrets it was fantastic and the pint of Paulaner complimented it perfectly. They went hand in hand like I used to with The Cat and Cage but that's no more that's over for me I've found my new baby and I plan on returning! The Cat slipped and The Ivy capitalised like the proverbial Demba Ba on the poor Gerrard and like Ba The Ivy did not disappoint!
