I live nearby and I love this place. It's usually the first place for food or a casual drink or coffee that I bring someone to that's visiting Dublin for the first time: I know they're guaranteed an excellent experience.
The owner is super friendly but not in a corny, fake way - he always makes sure everyone is looked after and the atmosphere is just so welcoming and homey (I think his name is John?). His staff are lovely as well and it's clear they have a good working rapport.
I especially love it here in the summer cos you can sit out front and have your breakfast in the sun (even though it's Dorset Street, no one bothers you)
The only recommendation I would make to John is that he do something about the façade: not enough people know about this place and you could easily walk past & miss it as it doesn't immediately look like an establishment. But once you're inside you don't regret going in.
Hope you guys stick around and thanks for all the excellent meals (I recommend the fish & chips, the fajitas and the apple pie)
Wow fantastic restaurant fabulous staff amazing food.cannot recommend this place highly enough.absolutely loved it .we will definitely be back.highly recommend a visit to this little gem
5 of us had a meal in your cafe yesterday on the way to Taylor Swift concert, staff were excellent and so friendly food was amazing and an incredible atmosphere to top it off can't recommend it enough overall a fantastic experience
We came here for dinner St Patrick’s Day eve and it was wonderful!! My husband got the Irish stew, I got the chicken carbonara, and my son got their chili burger. Not a spot of food left!! Service was exceptional and the place is just so quaint and dare I say “perfectly Irish.” We loved it and it wasn’t crazy packed because it’s away from Dublin’s City Centre. Definitely worth the short cab ride over from where we were staying. Highly recommend!
A brilliant restaurant great food lovely staff a must go place in Dublin if you don't go you're missing out on a great time I went in for one and stay in all night and the music great as well
I loved this place so much! It's off the beaten path, very local and has great food and amazing staff! The owner Johnnie and our waitress were so friendly I could have stayed hours just to chat! My only regret is that I wish I had found this place earlier in my visit so I could go again!
Stuck in the hospital around the corner in the big snow of 2018 it was a great place to get away from it all and enjoy some great music and food served up by a lovely staff.
Loved the food (and the drink!) and the hospitality was excellent. My boyfriend and I spent a really enjoyable evening in this fabulous place and I highly recommend everyone visiting (and/or living in) Dublin should do likewise!
Bleecker Street Cafe Bar is a wonderful place to get some yummy food and a good drink. And Johnny the bartender is super friendly and funny. Definitely stop by when visiting Dublin.
Called in twice yesterday - first for delicious lunch and later for a pot of tea with complimentary plate of biscuits. Great staff, fab food and nostalgic playlist - couldn't ask for more!
Bleecker Street Cafe is a must visit in Dublin! Great food and amazing atmosphere. Jonnie and the rest of the staff are top notch. Went back multiple times during our trip and I can't wait to visit again!
