Four of us had a superb meal this evening at Joel’s. We are staying at a near by hotel on a stop over for the ferry from Dublin. Would highly recommend. Very good service, friendly helpful staff, gluten free menu with a great choice and great food!
Joels was always my favourite place to eat when i lived in Dublin . Didnt even need menu I knew exactly what i was having.
Garlic mushrooms.
Medallions of beef.
If not too full profiterols.
Couple of Black Russians.
Well went yesterday as we were in Dublin for show.
Imagine my dissapointment to find they no longer do Medallions of Beef.
The waitress said they took it off menu months ago. I was gutted.
The Manager seen me on way to ladies and made polite conversation
" Hello how are you "
Me " Dissapointed you no longer do Medallions of Beef. Loved the two sauces you got with it "
Manger " I can have a fillet steak cut in two and we can do both sauces for you ".
Absolutly made my night.
Many many thanks to the Manager and Staff for a lovely evening.
We’ve been going to this restaurant for nearly 12 years and probably at least 8 times a year, most recently on 23rd Dec. It is our favourite restaurant just for its consistency, variet & quality of food. Some of the staff have been there the entire time and they are excellent and attentive! Like anywhere else we’ve had one or two bad experiences but the staff have always gone out of their way to fix the issue. On the whole this is a fantastic restaurant and one we’ll continue to eat at for years to come.
First time here must say it's very child friendly food was gorgeous staff so friendly would recommend here if u want a place to eat with Children
I agree with the other reviews in that I remember weekly or monthly visiting Joel's for family dinners in the late 90s and it has nice memories.
The place hasn't changed much in layout over the years since a revamp around then... But the quality has diminished somewhat. I still love the roast turkey and ham dinner and the creamy Veg soup is absolutely beautiful! Would go back always for the soup, so tasty.
They have allowed for more options on the main menu to suit more people but the service has declined and its a shadow of its former self.
Growing up in the 90's this was the go to restaurant for every family occasion. My love for the place today seems to be rose tinted glasses and nostalgia. Im glad to see the place still going and alongside all the Joels classic's, the introduction of modern dishes such as Asian fusion, build your own burger etc. No matter how many years pass, I've never found a nicer Veg soup. That bowl of nectar alone would keep me coming back!
