Great burger & shoestring fries! Didn’t have to wait to get in. Had no problems with service and waitress talked with us A bit! Recommend to give it a try. Especially if you can beat the lunch & dinner crowds.
Nice place located in the center of the Temple Bar area, great hamburger and great beer.

Best. Burger. In. Ireland. Ever. Possibly the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had in my life and that says a lot since I grew up on the West Coast of USA.
Burger was banging! Reasonably priced as well 👍🏻🍔 staff were good

Absolutely amazing! The medium double cheese burger, shoestring fries and a chocolate milkshake that are very close to what heaven should taste like.

Provavelmente o melhor hambúrguer que já comi. Não falta ali nada, comida impecável espaço descontraído, boa localização.
Única coisa a apontar seria o facto de não ter Guiness mas aí teria de dar um 6.
Incrível
Bunsen, a very nice place for having a burger meal.
Bunsen serves hamburgers, cheeseburger, fries and more.
I had Hamburger With Fries and one Beer.
Meal was so good.
BEST BURGER IN DUBLIN
+ Amazing Burger (with the right size)
+ Simple Menu (you dont need to many things)
+ Very Good Potatos
+ Really Cool Place
I had heard a lot of things about Bunsen but never got myself there.
On a rainy evening, after a few drinks I headed to Bunsen with my friend. We ordered a well done Cheeseburger. I've never been finicky about food and have often gone for a McDonald's cheeseburger. But yesterday after eating at Bunsen I couldn't get over how amazing and juicy the burger was.
I initially found it really funny that the place had such minimal options, but later realised you don't need more options. The size and quantity of the burger was perfect and the meat was soft and juicy.
I don't think I can get over the taste and how perfectly it was made and have become a big fan of the place.
PS:
Bunsen is a meat lover's paradise, however vegetarians, vegans and non-beef eaters can only have chips 😂
I arrived in Dublin just in time for lunch, checked into my Fleet Street hotel and ambled over to Bunsen for a burger. Before my trip I’d done some preliminary Googling for “best restaurants” in town and in the area where I was staying (Temple Bar). Bunsen kept coming up. I certainly wasn’t against having a good burger and couldn’t argue with it being just a couple of minutes away from my room.
I had been here on a Friday evening with my friends. It was a busy place. The menu is interesting. It comes like a business card. Limited options but they all are delicious. Service is average. Burgers and fries taste good.
A nice place in temple bar to have a burger. This place is always crowded and you have to wait to get a seat. After a long wait we got our seat and ordered their burger. The quality of meat is really good although we prefer the burger to have more creative ingredients. We ordered the strawberry shake and it was really good. The service was fast although the place was full. Recommended place for the quality served for a fair price!
Bunsen is a mirror of its menu: simple but good. Amazing burgers to be eaten with a giant portion of fries, perfect for sharing! I specially like the shoestring fries, super crispy and tasty.
Cheap restaurant in the center of Temple Bar with great burgers. The meat was really good and all the ingredients were very fresh. Giant portion of fries, perfect to share with someone.
The burger is INCREDIBLE. Bunsen was recomended by a friend to me, so my expectations were high, and I was most certainly not disapointed. Great price and environment. Worth it!
Perfect burger ratio. It's delicious and not as greasy as it looks. The menu is so simple, it fits on a business card. Great service too. Looking forward to coming back
If you are reading this review because you are still undecided if you should go to Bunsen or not just stop. And go. Now!
Cheap place with the necessary offer of burgers and fries, this is, you don't have many burgers to choose from but I can guarantee that this place is the proof of "quality over quantity".
The burgers are tasty and I would say that if you are not that hungry, share your fries with someone because it comes in huge amounts!
I will come back!
Great burgers, cheerful atmosphere. You may wait 20 mins on average to get table but they take your number and message you when your table is ready, so you can walk around temple bar while waiting instead of queuing. Great service 👍🏻
Simple, quick and honest burger. Very cheap the hamburger as well as the hand cut fries. Service is great and again quick and reliable. Liked the restaurant itself too, kind of loud but ok.
This place is a great place to pop into for an afternoon meal. The burgers were tasty and the servers were good.
No frills, no fuss, just good burgers
Ok, let me just be clear about one thing: I will not pick a side in this battle of burgers between Bunsen and Wowburger. ;) Both burgers are great, and everything else around them also. So, you can choose either one and you will be very pleased. There.
Right in front of The Temple Bar, Bunsen is a burger joint with a nice and clean face, wich means the restaurant has almost no decoration, neutral colours, good lights.
The only decoration needed are the black boards with the drink options, because the menu fits on the small business card in every table - great idea, by the way.
We can choose between burger or cheeseburger, and then regular or duble. Then we choose wich toppings we want to take away from the burger and finally, the type of fries.
First of all, about the meat: excellent!!! Perfectly coocked, full of taste, still juicy as you would always want a burger to be! We asked for the double cheese burger and it's really big, but the meat is always the star of the show. Great bun and great toppings, that's true, but the burger, my friends... just perfect!
And if you stick by the normal ones (both burger or cheese), you will be satisfied as well, because they are big.
On the side we choose the sweet potato fries (very good) and the handcut fries (even better!).
Nice range of beers and even wine to choose from also.
I believe that there is place for every restaurant, as long as it's good. And in Dublin, in just one street, you guys have two perfect burger joints! You should be proud! :)
Love bunsen👍🏾😃. Nice and cheap and cheerful
Usually always busy sometimes it's hard to get a table
Love how it's a small set menu
When I treat myself I always get the double cheese burger so good
And the sweet potato fries

An old picture of probably the best burger in Dublin, I'm torn between it & Wow but I much prefer the Bunsen restaurants especially the Temple Bar location. They are divine, can't fault anything. The brioche bun is absolutely perfect and reminds me of in-n-out every time! Can't beat a vanilla milkshake to go along with it.
Solid service, great burger cooked to order, one of the better places for burger. Couple things to improve to make it outstanding, better buns which would totally add another dimension and slightly better process of delivering food to the table. When our order arrived fries were cool.
Bunsen impressed me in attendance. The staff are very friendly and always smiling, even running to meet all customers. I first went to Bunsen in South City West, but was packed and had a queue of more than an hour, so I went to Temple Bar, where I had to face a half an hour queue. Worth it. However my favorite burger in Dublin remains the WowBurger.
Simple yet perfect!
This is in my opinion the best burger in Dublin! Top quality meat cooked at your choice and simple toppings because in the end is all about the meat...
Also should mention they serve the best sweet potato fries that I've eaten so far.
Top quality burger and fries at fast food price. Do you need more reasons to go!?
This place was suggested by a friend that has been there before ! We thought the menu was very simple with just two burgers to choose from and a few types of fries ! Made the decision of deciding what to eat so much easier ~ We arrived at the place and was attended by one of the ladies, her service wasn't very good as she was very mean to us and her attitude wasn't very good ! But other than that we enjoyed our meal very much ~ We got double cheese burger which the meat was cooked to perfection, the meat being very soft and everything ! The sweet potato fries were really good and the whole meal was very enjoyable ! 😉
Bunsen is the Ronseal of burger joints. A bit of a hotspot in the heart of the city, they provide a no-frills menu (which is literally the size of a business card). However, they know their way around a beef burger and how to cook it to your preference. If you're looking for a tasty burger with no fuss then this is the place for you.
Bunsen can do no wrong in my opinion. I would go back for the chips and strawberry shake alone. The burger menu is simple which I like as there is nothing worse than having too many options and then panic ordering (we've all been there). The bun is so soft. The burger is cooked to perfection. It is great value. My only issue is the fact there is always a queue out the door but that's the price to pay for deliciousness I guess.
See you soon Bunsen.
Simple, good, the best!
Top quality burgers on the most simple menu you can imagine: you just need to decide if you want it double, with cheese and how it should be cooked (yes, just like in a steakhouse, this is how good the meat is). No fancy toppings, just a very good, perfect, burger! It can't get any better. The sweet potato fries are to die for!!
One of the best burgers you can find!
Unbelievable burgers is the best was to put this place into two words.
They are always busy and always full but the staff get your name and number if they have no table for you and you get a text soon as your table is ready so no hassel at all. Next the staff are friendly which is always nice. Simple menu so small its printed in a buisness card but the few things they do they do very well very very well. Happy everytime I've been.
Bunsen is probably the best burger in Ireland. Their new temple bar branch is good but theres just that little bit of something missing that can’t be replicated and it is to be found in abundance in their original Wexford Street branch. Its probably atmosphere. In fact thats exactly what it is. Still a bloody good burger though.
+Their sweet potato fries are an absolute must
Just as good as the original Bunsen, but with more seats and more space. Same business card menu and you can't go wrong with a cheese burger, sweet potato fries and a beer (all gluten free of course!)
For some ungodly reason I only had my first Bunsen this week!
I had high expectations for this place as I haven't heard a bad word since its opening on Wexford st. I was expecting a kind of Shake Shack experience that I had in the states. (Still haven't made it to the west coast to try In'n'Out burger!)
Well what can I say! I have been missing out. I would happily now recommend bunsen as my favourite burger spot in town. The menu and concept is ridiculously simple and refreshing.
If you are looking for a tasty cheeseburger with no frills for good value well look no further.
And unlike other fast food meals you don't leave feeling sick, I even managed to go back to the library for a productive few hours after!!
I have been dying to come here!! Today I finally tried it! Amazing cheeseburger, the bun was so fresh and soft! The burger had a great juicy taste! I got sweet potato fries and my god they were divine!!!
This place is a must if you are a burger lover!!!
Look, it's Bunsen. It's the undisputed burger champion in Dublin. I'm still trying to find if another can beat it. Wowburger, Smokin' Bones, Eat Meat Grill House are the closest I've found but for sheer simple, quality Bunsen is best. On top of the best burger they have one of the top sweet potato fries in Dublin. Often you'd get them a bit soft. BUnsen manage to get them crispy too. You can't go wrong with the cheeseburger with all the toppings.
Love this place to grab a quick burger (heaven when you're hungover). I usually order the cheeseburger and got sweet potato fries last time which were lovely. Quick service, staff are friendly enough. Would love if they did Coke Zero!
A nice burger. That's about it. Because that's all they have.
Living on it's own hype IMHO. People will quickly realise it is only a glorified Mc Donalds soon, albeit with a long wait for your food.
This place never let's me down! It's more of a casual quick bite but boy is it a tasty one. The burger is on a light brioche bun so it's so great and squishy over the amazing chargrilled beef with a bit of melted cheese and gherkin! A real burger without the fuss.
I am not a crazy burger person, so when I first saw the business card sized menu I was a bit worried. After having a cheeseburger and shoestring fries, I understand Bunsen not having the need for a broad menu! The food was delicious , the burger was cooked to perfection I asked for medium rare! The fries are nice skinny and very tasty. Service was excellent and fast, I have returned many times since and it is the first place I would recommend for a burger to anyone! I work in the tourism business and Bunsen is one of my top recommended restaurants!
Bunsen The Best Burger !
Really loved the simplicity of Bunsen today . It was my first time trying it and I had very high expectations as all of my friends love it .
It 100% lives up to the high standards they set . I got a cheese Burger and sweet potato fries they were insane and the burger was probably the best I've ever had .
I will definitely go back I think I liked it too much , I will be going there all the time now !!
Having put off Bunsen for god knows how long and who knows why I finally managed to give it a go last night.
My standards were set incredibly high after hearing my friends and family ranting and raving about it as well as the general perception of it being the best burger in Dublin. I'm glad to say I was not disappointed.
Everything was just on point from the simplicity of the menu on a business card to the only cutlery available being the metal tray the burger and fries came on. I went for the double meat burger and sweet potato fries, the fact that I was able to order the burger medium rare is a true testament to the quality of the meat being served. The burger was both juicy and tender and the toppings really made it quite honestly made it perfect. The only remote negative was that I've had better sweet potato fries around town but that was it! On top of the amazing food I ordered a glass of red wine to accompany it, they didn't measure out the amount of wine they served me like 99% of bars and restaurants do nowadays and I ended up getting about 1 and a half glasses for the price of 1 which really sealed the deal.
It's not too often a place lives up to its hype but Bunsen certainly did and I will definitely be going back!
Bunsen is well known for its simple menu and delicious burgers by now, but I can't emphasize enough just how good it is here. Everything is super fresh and full of flavour while remaining very well priced. The double cheeseburger is an occasional treat and it never disappoints! Their milkshakes are also incredible even if they are a little bit pricey.
I had a burger. First time for like 20 years I had a burger. I am so proud, and I feel so sick. I didn't get another choice; I was starving. I remember my mom to force me to eat minced beef she would hide it under the bun and cover with lots of ketchup. And I would occasionally eat it. But ok. I think the quality of meat is really good. The buns are very fresh and soft. I'm in love with the chocolate milkshakes although I have milk allergy I will still drink one (twice per year). Chips are like the McDonald one, and I love them. So all what I'm not or what I should not eat is there. What a shame.
I only tried this place for the first time the other day after tonnes of recommendations and people telling to go try here!!! Without a doubt one of the best burger I've ever had! So simple and delicious and I'm also a huge fan of sweet potato fries too and Bunsen's were perfect!!! My food was cooked to perfection, the staff are very pleasant and the restaurant as a whole in temple bar is lovely with really quick service and lots of space. I would highly recommend trying here if you haven't already! Very reasonably priced also!
The hamburgers in my life, don't have comparation with others hamburgers restaurant in dublin!!
Very fast attention, very delicious hamburgers with handcut fries!
Really the best , every time I go, Im impressed again!
100% recommended!
I love BUNSEN. Incredibly tasty burgers & great price. Staff is very friendly, it is a great atmosphere. And again, the burgers are just amazing!!!
Fantastic burger. It's a really really nice place. I tried the cheese burger and it's very good. The hand cut fries are very good too. I definitely want to come back and try the sweet potato. Very fast service and nice price. However, I think it was a little bit noisy and maybe the menu could have more options.
Truly the best burger joint in Dublin. Never fails to impress, the burgers are perfectly juicy, the service is casual and the menu is spot on - no muss, no fuss. So much love for Bunsen!
Called in here this evening and yet again, a fantastic burger (I went for the cheese burger with lettuce and onions). So incredibly tasty - everyone needs to try this place. Much more seating than the Wexford St restaurant so I can't imagine you'd need to queue here.
My first time in the new spot in temple bar, and I was just as impressed with it.
Beautifully simple menu as before and everything is cooked to perfection.
With 4 of us at the table we all asked for different ways for our burgers to be cooked, med/rare, medium, med/well done and well done...with each one you could see the varying levels of pink perfectly
Every bite of their burger is really juicy and the sides of fries are a big enough portion
What it lacks in options compared to other places like gbk or bobo's, it more than makes up for in taste
Only got around to trying Bunsen this weekend and can't believe I haven't been sooner ! I got the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries which where delicious! Burgers seem small but fill you up! Sweet potato fried were tasty too! Definitely will be back again service was great and food was ready within 15 mins!
Having visited the original restaurant many times, I was excited to see if they could replicate it. And they did, the Temple Bar branch is great. It's a lot more spacious so you can relax a bit better to enjoy your food. Burger was really tasty - and I love the option to have it cooked how you like with or without a bun and cheese. The sweet potato fries still the best in Dublin. I'd also recommend trying the vanilla milkshake! The staff are very attentive and friendly without being in your face.
Had finally got around to trying these burgers out on the first day they opened in temple bar. We waited two hours to finally get seated. I had the double cheese burger with shoestring fries. Definitely worth the wait. The burger was absolutely delicious and to top it off it was all free! The staff were all very friendly. Can't wait to go back
