This place has ample vegetarian options in a buffet style as well as menu based food options, cakes, treats and coffee! Brilliant place for groups who maybe all fancy something different to one another.
The different sized takeaway options and student discounts on the buffet are a great idea and is worth a visit for the Mac n Cheese alone!
Great staff.Loads of variety always great options super cheap. Cakes and coffee for the win. Hot cold and wholesome. Perfect for quick bite or a student.
Soothing to the eye colours especially after Christmas shopping or just wanting some time out!
The staff are an eclectic mix of everything warm. The food is freshly made.
The new LUAS line gets you to Leeson Street and beyond
The bus stops on Nassau Street and the Alliance Française leaves you plush with choice.
A casual place to load up your plate with a big selection of hot and cold dishes. Their menu has improved over the past two years and there is also a huge sweets selection.
I like that they make their own almond milk and it's a handy place to grab a smoothie or matcha latte and sit out on the grass in Trinity across the road or nearby St.Stephen's Green.
Shopping for sweaters makes a girl hungry so I took myself off to KC Peaches for a quick lunch. I wish we had one in joburg! Delicious healthy salads and sandwiches and also some yummy looking baked goods. Best coffee baristas in town apparently! A canteen type of vibe. Service was a bit confused though.
Big fan of their hot chocolates- they usual chocolate chips. Also great place to get a takeaway salad. Caesar salads are good here to. And great selection of desserts. Big fan of there cheesecake chocolate brownie
Love KC Peaches. So much variety and choice! Lovely interior, loads of space to sit during rush hour lunchtime. I got the hummus sambo toasted. It says it's spicy but there is no spice what's so ever in it. It was delicious. So much salad to choose from its quite over whelming so I stuck to an easy option, but I'll be back to try those out soon!
KC peaches is a regular lunch spot for us Trinity students. Selling very tasty baked goods, sandwiches, hot food and one of the best salad bars in Dublin allowing you to fill either a take away box or a plate to the brim. They do a great selection of fresh fruit, smoothies, juices and porridge for breakfast too. I got a broccoli soup and small salad box today which came to €7.45. Tip- if you're eating in and going for salad, fill the box and then transfer to a plate when you've paid. You can get way more into the boxes than the plates. The price is done on the size of box or plate selected rather than weight so pack as much as you can into your box! It gets very busy between 1-2pm when the Trinity students get lunch so I tend to try get there before 1 or avoid it until 1.45pm.
Why did nobody tell me about this place? :) I had to fly into town one day during lunch and decided to grab a quick bite in here. I'm not a massive cold food/salad fan, nor was I in the mood for a sandwich, so when I saw they had a selection of hot foods I was delighted! You get a plate and pile it high with lots of delicious food.. I had meatballs, kale pasta, roasted root veg and chicken & mushroom pie. The picture doesn't look too appetising (yes, it's very 'beige') but the food was gorgeous! And reasonably priced too - this cost under a tenner and is definitely more filling that a sandwich or salad. Would definitely return - the dessert selection alone looked amazing! Only thing was it was absolutely jammers, and found it a bit difficult to move around when working your way through self serve selection!
I popped in here one evening last week and was impressed with the variety of food on offer. I went for a large plate of mixed salads, served on a buffet basis. There was good choice of different styles of salad, all fresh and tasty. My main criticism is that I thought the layout of the 'DIY' food bars was a bit confusing and not made as obvious as it could have been to a new customer (what size serving, what could or could not be included, etc.). However, the staff were pleasant and seemed attuned to answering queries. Definitely a good option for a quick and satisfying meal (once you figure out the system).
I am dying to try all of the baked goods here. The scones look DIVINE. Unfortunately, it was a flying visit so I only had a coffee to go but it was a really good coffee. I hear the brownies and the croissants are to-die for. See you soon KC 👋🏼
Great place for on the go salad and sandwiches. Everything is fresh and with a lot of healthy options. I make my way to KC Peaches every weekend for my cheat treat..the berry tart! Hands down this is the best tart evvvaaaa...
This place has always been a favourite of mine. I love sitting upstairs and could spend ages there! I had the fried egg sandwich on my most recent visit and it was divine! Runny egg with melted cheese and rocket. Their coffee is super and they also have a good selection of teas.
If you haven’t yet been to KC Peaches Wine Cave on Nassau Street then get yourself over quick smart. Its well worth a visit and here’s why. They have great food and great wines in comfortable and intimate surrounds and its right in the centre of town. They also have Kasia, one of the friendliest most knowledgeable and welcoming hosts/managers/waitresses I’ve ever met.
On arrival you can opt to have a drink in the wine bar section or head straight to your table and enjoy your wine there.
We opted to sit at the bar and peruse the wine menu with the help of Kasia who put it together. She had some great recommendations and let us try a couple of tastes before we decided on a bottle of Los2ces Blanco (€26) , Valenica 2013, which is a mix of Sav Blanc and Macabeo. Delicate floral and tropical fruit notes which was a great wine to start dinner.
Not actually on the menu, but something the chef was toying around with, we were informed the ham hock terrine was also on offer. Served with fresh bread, roasted red onion and chutney. I would eat it all day long it was that good and the portion was sizeable too.The second starter was roasted fig (€9.95) wrapped in parma ham and stuffed with goats cheese. Served with rocket and a raspberry balsamic reduction. Again a great serving with four figs on the board. The sweetness of the figs worked beautifully with the tart creamy goats cheese.
For my main I went for the pan seared fillet of hake (€15.95). It was sitting atop a bed of herb crushed baby potato, drizzled with crab and tarragon butter and topped with sautéed samphire. The hake fillet was thick and flaky and cooked perfect and the tarragon butter complemented it wonderfully. With fish I do prefer my samphire to be slightly more crunchy but it was tasty none the less. The other main course was 10oz aged Hereford rib eye steak (€23.95). It came with roast tomato, flat mushroom and potato puree. The picture unfortunately is not great as it was quite dark in the wine ‘cave’. My fellow diner had it cooked medium and it was as tender a piece of beef as you could get. I had more than a few mouthfuls of it throughout dinner. In terms of main courses it was the clear winner.
KC Peaches Wine Cave offers a very enjoyable dining experience and even if your not hungry you can pop in and enjoy a great selection of wines either by the glass or bottle. Keep an eye out for their special offers which they run during the week. Tuesdays was listed as 50% off wine for students (rummages in wallet for student card) and I’m informed they will be having a number of other offers and events in the coming weeks and months.
Great selection of healthy food. It's perfect if you're in a rush and just wanna grab something quick since you just load everything on to your own plate. Also do cute and tasty desserts.
Good Casual place. KC Peaches isn't fancy or super gourmet, but it has plenty of options at a fair price. While I wish there were some hot food options for vegans, the cold food salads were plentiful enough and they kindly list ingredients in each as you move along the salad bar so you can avoid dairy or eggs if you want. When you get there you pick a plate or box and fill it up with as much food as you want for a set price (3 sizes). The staff are helpful if you do have questions and the food, while not amazing is satisfying enough for a quick bite.
I have three words for you all, Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake. Next time you're in KC Peaches just order this and the rest will take care of itself. Trust me on this one.
Let's talk KC Peaches....
I've heard over the years that KC Peaches are really good for gluten free snacks and food. As I use a library close to their Dawson Street Café I tend to be in there for my breaks. I have to tell you, I didn't believe they were great with the gluten free snacks because I never saw anything in there to indicate it. Then I started talking to them.
Apparently because the kitchen isn't completely gluten free they can't label anything as gluten free. I do have a problem with this, but I also see the reasons why. There is a risk of cross contamination from the kitchen but they use a different prep area with separate utensils.
While researching I talked to them on Facebook. No harm in asking a few questions, right? So they confirmed that they do have gluten free snacks and meals but they can't label them as such because of the kitchen. They told me about the separate prep areas and utensils in the kitchen. Anyone who asks in store is always told about this. Two out of three times I went in to get the treats for the pictures below I was told. Granted the one time I wasn't told was because the girl that serves me every single day served me. She probably thought I knew already from being in there so much! The feedback is that the majority don't mind the kitchen situation because they are careful enough to have the precautions in place.
I have the habit of being embarrassed in restaurants and shops. It's like telling people something personal when you really aren't ready. This is very apparent when I frequent KC Peaches. It's normally because I take breaks at regular times. Therefore, at say, eleven there is a queue for everyone taking their break. It's a little annoying for people to be holding up the queue. Therefore, I don't do it. Also, I use the 'I'm eating healthily' way of thinking to deter myself from asking for the sweet stuff!
Lunches: There is always someone at the deli counter to ask and they are all trained to know which fillings are gluten free. Most of the soups are gluten free, but not always so its best to ask. There is also gluten free bread at the deli counter.
Pastries. Ok we all love pastries. Well, I love pastries. I spent a month in Paris and came home very sick. I miss pastries. We can have the almond financier, a chocolate & hazelnut brownie, coconut macaroon, and meringue. I really should have asked about this before now! I do have a little issue with there being no labeling and the fact that they are among all the other pastries in the displays. If there is such a big deal made about separate prep areas then bunging them among the other pastries makes the cross contamination precautions a little redundant.
One thing about KC Peaches is that the premises are very full of gluten. I can see why they stress that they can't guarantee that products made without gluten are completely gluten free. All it takes is a flick of flour somewhere, be it the kitchen or the counter. I'm not going to be deterred too much though. As a gluten free dieter we run the risk of this in every restaurant we eat in, unless they have no gluten what so ever on the premises, which is hard to do. In fact, I only know of one, which is that delightful bakery on Kevin St.
Update 11th February 2014:
I noticed a little signage in KC Peaches (on the tills)!
