Great restaurant in the grand canal dock , excellent food and lovely staff. Such of a great food experience I would definitely be back soon.
Very good restaurant which tends to be full so booking is recommended.
We've had the fish fillet, the burger and the steak, all were very tasty. However, desserts are not that good.
Music is a little bit high for a restaurant.
Waiters seem overwhelmed at peak hours but they don't fail to serve you.
We went here before a show in the Bord Gais. We opted for the 3 course before show menu. Three courses for less then 30€ it was excellent value. I went for spicy wings, Beef burger and brownie. I was with a friend for her birthday and they even sent out a cake in the dessert. The porsecco was a great choice also. Very impressed

Went here for the pre theatre menu a few weeks ago before going to see a show. The food was amazing quality and you could tell there was a lot of thought that went in to the dishes and their presentation.
I had the chicken liver parfait for starters, it was delicious but could have done with some more bread for the amount of parfait you were given. For mains I chose the roasted sweet potato and chickpea cake and my mam had the free range Irish chicken. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the sweet potato cake was so flavourful dying to go back and have it again I delighted I had picked that. We chose the banoffee and cheesecake for desert the presentation of them in jars was nice and they were lovely but nothing too special either. The wine recommended to us was the zagalia pinot Grigio are it was gorgeous.
Although the food tasted great we did feel that we needed to get desert as we didn't really feel full after our starters and mains. I do think the portion sizes aren't that great so if you are starving make sure you also order a side dish with your main course.
If you're looking for a nice place to have dinner in the "Tech" district in Dublin HQ is a good option. They serve nice modern comfort food and some deliciously looking burgers. They have a very big room with nice cosy areas with sofas and it fits big groups as well. It's also a great place for b-day drinks and gatherings since they will keep you going with good wine and finger food.
Great brunch menu, reasonably priced with good quality ingredients. Fast and friendly service. Terrace is a welcome spot for dining al fresco (Irish weather permitting)
HQ is in a great location, right beside the Grand Canal Theatre. I've been twice and had the Chicken Liver Patè to start on both occasions. The food is very good, and you wont be disappointed by the portion sizes. I would certainly return, particularly if going for a pre-theatre meal.
The prices are on the high side, which is the one deterrent.
I had a really delicious meal in HQ on a Saturday night. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, but there was a great atmosphere. I went for the spicy tomato soup to start, and my boyfriend had the chicken liver parfait. The soup was delicious, a really big bowl and was served with a big slice of fresh bread. The pate also got the thumbs up. For mains I went for the sole which was amazing. The portion was really big and everything was very fresh. He went for the rib-eye steak. The portion was also very big and came with a generous helping of chips. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the service was nice a quick. Great place if you are in the area.
This was my first time in HQ and a lovely treat!First of all the service (it was that impressive that its paramount it be addressed first), was incredible. Staff were pleasant, professional and attentive, offering advice on the menu, explaining dishes and ensuring neither wine nor water glasses were ever half empty. For starters we had the chorizo and prawn risotto which was as tasty as it sounds. For mains I had sole which was cooked perfectly but otherwise was fine, not too memorable. I also had a side of beetroot and hazelnut which was nice with the dish, just to note it comes drizzled with natural yoghurt - it doesn't say that on the menu. The dessert was the best food choice decision I made all night. Apricot bread and butter pudding with plums and chocolate sauce, it was served warm and was a delight!
Myself and my sister grabbed dinner here a few days back as she works just around the corner and I had been meaning to try it out since it changed from Ely last year. The location is really cool, right by Grand Canal Dock and is designed really well. There's a great, laid back atmosphere and the restaurant is really open and spacious. It was fairly quiet, as it was early on a Monday night, but I expect closer to the weekend there'd be a great atmosphere.
The staff here are great and really accommodating. I ordered the featherblade of beef and it was cooked really well, and the meat was especially tender. I wasn't expecting there to be such an extensive drinks list, and they had some great craft beer options. We were in and out fairly quickly but would definitely go back again for drinks or a group meal.
I have to agree with the reviewers below, the service here is really excellent. I've been to HQ for brunch before and really liked it so went to try dinner this time. I had the seabass and my brother had the beef. Both were really tasty, very fresh and the other menu options would (I imagine) suit all tastes. Also, they do a GREAT glass of wine - cant beat a large glass of cold pinot grigio!!!! Ill definitely return.
This is my second time at HQ. First was for a Christmas party, and last night I was lucky enough to go back to try their dinner menu!
The service was absolutely incredible. Never had to lift the bottle of wine before a waiter was over topping up your class. Felt very well looked after, which is a necessity when fine dining.
I tried the risotto for starter; and had the seabass for the main. Both were quite tasty, the seabass came with safron potatoes which were incredible! Had the chocolate and peanut butter cake for dessert. I found the peanut butter just a little bit overpowering taste wise but it came with the most delicious banana ice-cream which worked well.
Definitely worth a visit, would like to go back and try some of their cocktails, that menu looked good!
Stepped in here for a spot of brunch yesterday afternoon. The interior is lovely and modern, quite spacious too! They had the hits playing in the background.
After much debate, I opted for the veggie burger. The pattie was made with chickpeas and sweet potato, topped with grilled brie & served inside a brioche bun. Yes, the burger was tasty but it was the house fries and aioli that stole the show for me...YUM!
My friend ordered the eggs benny with salmon - I was lucky enough to taste a bit and oh my days it was good! I will be back, but next time i'm trying the fry-up because it looked UNREAL!
Had a lovely brunch here with friends. To start i got the detox juice, which was light and refreshing a great start to the meal. I went for the Cajun chicken burger for my main and it was divine! Served on a jalapeño bun with Brie cheese, bacon, Cajun sauce and all the regular burger trimmings it was a really delicious meal, and for €14.50 with fries included I couldn't fault it.
With a great location looking out on the docklands, and gorgeous interior HQ cant really be faulted for setting. We went for brunch on a Saturday, and staff were more than accomadating placing four of us at a table with a lovely view.
I got the steak sandwich and chips. For 14.50 I thought it was a little steep for the portion size but nonetheless, the carmelised onion and relish were superb along side the steak.
My friend ordered the french toast, which was also a very very small portion size. The burger however, was value for its money and was huge.
I wont be rushing back, but it was definitely an enjoyable brunch!
Its also located right beside a Lolly and Cooks if your still hungry after, its a great spot for a bit of dessert and a coffee!
Went here for brunch over the summer. We were w group of four and we sat outside, the place was packed. I had the eggs florentine with salmon which was the usual nothing unique, then again nothing wrong with it. The three others had the cod burger, which they all devoured and it went down a treat. Their wine offering was great and the Sauvignon blanc recommended by the lovely waiter, was lovely. I also had w Bloody Mary which hit the spot.
I've also been here for dinner and loved it. They got my boyfriends order incorrect and just gave him both dishes which was very kind of them and dealt with the mishap very well. I had the fish special which was wonderful. I'm looking forward to coming back!
I had dinner here recently with my family before heading off to the Bord Gais for the night. We ordered from the pre theatre menu which is quite good value. Two courses for 23.50 or three for 27.50. I had the goats cheese to start and chicken supreme for mains. My only complaint about the meal was the amount of goats cheese they served with it. I'm being a little bit picky I know but it was just too much for me. Not enough of everything else to fully enjoy it. Chicken was delicious!
It was my first time here but I really enjoyed it. Cool atmosphere , nice decor and staff were very friendly and helpful. Being a family dinner, of course there were arguments about who was paying etc and they seemed to get a good laugh from it. It definitely seems like a place for after work drinks/food and given its location I can see why. Cool place if you want to catch up with friends & family over drinks and a bite to eat. I'm sure it will be sooner rather than later when I'm back!
I really like this place for its specific good climate, especially during the winter. I like to jam in comfortable couch with the glass of wine to chill out. Minus of this place is that its bit loud plus the service is very slow so if you are in the rush its not the best place. also, prices for wine, I think the are overpriced. Of the menu, I would recommend chicken wings for a snack.
Not as good as it was before the change in management. Still a great location to sit outside for the afternoon in the sun and it has a good wine list.
