Called in by chance and had the most amazing brisket with a BBQ sauce to die for. And the staff were so good and friendly. We even tried a cheeky rack of ribs at the end just because to smell of the kitchen wafting over to us was irresistible! Gerry, the owner, was extremely friendly and we had a great chat about BBQ food and found we are both fans of the London BBQ restaurants. Highly recommended and very well priced. Def a new food destination fory next visit to dublin.

Myself and the hubby had the pleasure of eating here yesterday evening for the first time. The aroma that hits you the minute you step through the door is just amazing!. The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. As for the food,OMG! I have not tasted food like this except in the states. It reminded me of a cross between the outback restaurant and the house of blues restaurant. We both had the combo which we devoured. I would highly recommend Smokin Bones to my friends and can't wait to go back!.
Fabulous little spot.. lovely staff, great service, amazing food and options on the menu.. and excellent value for money.. recommend 100% will definitely be back
Had heard good things about this place so when a friend and I met in town and could not decide where to go, I suggested we try here, and I am very glad we did.
We were seated immediately, the server was polite and friendly throughout our visit.
The food was quite good value and very filling, and I would definitely recommend the brisket, it was so tender it was almost falling apart on my fork.
Such a fantastic place to enjoy great meats!!! Management are very friendly and couldn't of done more! Amazing value! Would recommend everyone to try the 18inch Bin Lid!!!! Great night out! Wish these guys the best of luck!!!!! They'll do well!
Have to say smokin bones is just amazing the food is glorious and cheap, dont know how the chefs do it but its like manna from heaven cant recommend it highly enough!!! If you like barbacued/slow cook beef/pork/ribs mmmmm the no.1 place in dublin.stunning
Loved it so much my favourite BBQ place in Dublin! Frequently visit cause I can't get enough of the amazing food for great value! Really nice staff too!
I went last nite with two of best mates and it was simply amaze balls. Thanks for a great food and great service!! Highly recommend the juicy Lucy
Had a gorgeous meal for my birthday, and the baldy waiter gave me a fab brownie and sang happy birthday! Such a fab place!
Wanted to try a Juicy Lucy burger after seeing it on Food Network. Best place to get a burger in Dublin!
Perfect spot for late night dinner, or food at any time, lovely staff, delectable food, nice chilled vibes and decor was beaut.
I highly recommend this restaurant, great food and service and the chocolate brownies are the best I've ever had ! Yum ! :)
Great food, if you are in Dublin don't miss this place! Have the chicken wings!! X
Food on a bin lid what will they think of next? Probably just chicking it straight in the bin which is where mine went. Bland, overcooked and took forever to get to us. Service was decent which is the only saving grace. Not sure if I'll go back, though I can't wait for a special served in a nappy or similar. EEW
I've been meaning to try here for ages for a cheat day! I was not disappointed the food was amazing, extremely tasty and filling.! I can't wait to try it again, on another cheat day.!
I've tried to cut meat out of my diet during the week for the last month now and all the while I've had the biggest craving for BBQ food. Last night it was been Smokin Bones and Pitt Bros and seeing as I've been to the latter already we went with SB. I got the combo meal - half a rack of baby...
I went to the Smokin Bones for lunch as I was walking through town and the sign and smells got my attention. The sign was advertising their lunch deal which was a brisket, pulled pork or chicken bap with 2 sides from the choices of fries, beans, salad and Mac and cheese and a soft drink was also included all for just €9.99. From this I order the brisket bap with the fries and the mac and cheese. Whilst waiting for my food I took in the place and the ambiance really sets the mood in the restaurant. Both sides were delicious and the fries were one of the best I've had in a while, for the bap itself it was tasty but I wasn't a massive fan of their bbq sauce which is quite a main part of a bbq shop. It was tasty but a different sauce could have made it incredible. I will probably eat here again as it is great value for money and the staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Came here with the boyfriend the other week, we ordered the pulled pork sliders, nachos, wings and onion rings. For me the best part was the sliders, they were so full of flavour! But the onion rings weren't as crispy as I would have liked. Otherwise the rest of the food was great and nice service 😊
Was nicely given a voucher for this place by the lovely people at Zomato and I was not disappointed! We started off with the small wings and nachos to share and this was enough! So so filling, we didn't think it through! I went for the chicken sandwich and Liam went for the The chicken burger! So so so much food! Eyes were far too big for our bellies.
Unreal quality of food! Will hopefully be back!
I can honestly say this is one the best BBQ spots in Dublin. Its lesser known reputation makes it very easy and accessible to drop in and out, which can be a lot more of an ordeal with some of the bigger places. The food is excellent and remains truthful to the BBQ ethos. Questionably sized portions of meat served on blocks of wood, dripping in BBQ sauce. I have returned on a number of occasions. I can say the only true downside to the place is the long wait for the food to arrive, but I assume that's just the name of the game when you take a turn on the BBQ roulette wheel of life.
Also interesting to note you can get your food served in a bin lid ( clean of course). So you can now impress that special someone by making them eat from a bin lid.
A great meat spot in the centre of town. Although the meat wasn't the best I've had compared to similar restaurants, it was still enjoyable nonetheless. The platter with sides came to about 35 euro, which for 2 people was a pretty great meal and value for money
Smoking Bones is a great spot in the city centre. It has huge competition from its neighbours Pitt Bros for best city centre BBQ. I got the juicy Lucy, A burger that sweats cheese. What a time to be alive! I'd certainly rate it on part with most burger places in Dublin.
It is a lovely place if you want to eat bbq meat and don't want to spend lots of money. but either the food and the place have things for improvement, for example : the brisket was very dry and the first glasses we got were a a bit dirty... We got the taster platter for sharing (between 2 people) and it was more than enough!
The music was some awful dance techno stuff but maybe you're into that. The people are lovely tho.
Brownie was really nicely presented with strawberry and ice-cream. Tasted good, needed the ice-cream to moisten it.
Brisket is a cut of meat which comes from the breast or lower chest. Why do we love it? Is it because its primal and inside all of us there are remnants of our hunter gatherer ancestors? Ready to serve, briskets façade resembles the black leather of a perfectly shined shoe. If cooked correctly it resonates with an intense beef flavour and is infused with rivulets of fat which moisten every mouthful.
The latest addition to this growing trend of BBQ joints is Smokin Bones on Dame Street. The menu is modelled on a typical American BBQ and smokehouse. A mix of brisket, pulled pork, wings and burgers. Salads are also on offer for the more health conscious out there.
Myself and H both went for the BBQ tasting platter priced at €14.95 which is great value in my opinion. It had a mix of brisket, pulled pork sliders, chicken wings and a half a rack of ribs. That’s enough to give anyone the meat sweats.
Despite everything tasting incredible the brisket was the winner on the plate for me. It was meltingly tender with robust flavours and a silky sheen to it. That alone will bring me back to Smokin Bones, and I’ll be having a large portion of it when I do
I was stuffed after the platter but the waiter sneakily left a menu on the side of the table listing the desserts. Quite frankly it would be rude not to try a couple of desserts, besides it was for research purposes. A smokin’s chocolate brownie and a New York style cheesecake were promptly ordered and delivered.
We left stuffed and promise to return!
I absolutely loved it here! A BBQ style restaurant just off George's street! Gorgeous food, polite staff, lovely cosy restaurant and very reasonably priced! I would highly reccomend ☺️
Called here yesterday evening and tried the pulled pork plate with onion rings and sweet potatoe mash. Its very tasty and I really liked the slaw on the side of the pulled pork. Will certainly be back to try more of their menu.
Ate here for lunch with work friends. We had a mix of items from the menu. The service was extremely slow. We were waiting so long that if we weren't so hungry we would have left. When the food did eventually arrive though it was delicious. Would recommend if service was improved.
Really good service and great student deal! I went here twice last week and would defo recommend the pulled pork and mac & cheese. Good spot if you want a quick meal, we weren't waiting long for our food at all!
