Ate here for breakfast the first morning when we arrived in Dublin and the omelette was amazing. Best cheese I have had. Also at lunch here before leaving. We waited 45 mins for our table. I would recommend calling in and reserving a table because this place is packed nonstop. Highly recommend.

The wings are beyond and big potion. Our host and wait staff were courteous and attentive, making sure to check on us. The roasted garlic for the garlic burger was buttery and love the steak sandwich with the goat cheese and sun dried tomato. Didn't need any sauces.

Food was excellent and full of flavor. Both my husband and I enjoyed our meals. The lime shrimp with couscous was like nothing I ever ate. My husband's meal was also unusual with homemade pasta and seafood in a fennel broth.

I wish I could give a sixth star here. Great and authentic wings are hard to find and they absolutely nail the sauce, the wing texture, the flavor... So fantastic! We ventured back into Temple Bar and had this on our last weekend in Ireland and I'm so glad we did. It's inexpensive, worth the short wait, and is such a great example of Buffalo Wings.

Definitely stop in. This is in my top 5 places for wings internationally. A+

Amazing place and voted as the best place for wings in Dublin. The food is really tasty and portions were great. Waiting line for the place was about 20 minutes as it was packed. For sure one of my favourite places to eat in Dublin

Lives up to its name of the best wings in Dublin. They definitely are the best thing about Elephant and Castle - a great starter to share between the table. We all had burgers for main course, which were also delicious and definitely good value for the portion size. Service was quick and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I would definitely return to Elephant and Castle, if only for the wings.

Best chicken wings in Dublin hands down.

Easy restaurant lay out and not absurdly over priced, plus the location is a bonus if you are having pre night out nosh to line the belly.

If you're a wing fan, this is the place to go. 4.5 out of 5 for me.

Best chicken wings in town! But just that, not much of a choice of other dishes (I mean, there are but I wasn't tempted). Very popular and always very busy, you need to book for a table in the weekends. To try!

Boasting the reputation for the best wings in town, Elephant & Castle kept up to its name. A basket of wings for 13€ is a lot of wings for any time of the day. Starting from the succulence of the wings to the sauce it was coated with, the wings were truly delicious. I also ordered a platter of sandwiches for later which came on toasted white bread. That along with a bottle of Peroni beer sure made the lunch enjoyable. The place is always busy but we were served on time and had an enjoyable experience.

I've never been very feminine when it comes to food, and I don't mind getting sauce all over my hands. Sound familiar? Then 100% get down to try wings here. Honestly one of the best places of if you have ever been a lovely of buffalo wings. There are a very limited amount of places where they get everything right: portion size, sauce, dips etc. You certainly won't be hungry after this feed and the sauce is 100% just right, not too mild/spicy. Brought my American cousin here and he couldn't fault it! Always great to see a place so busy too!

Would recommend to a friend

They're always going to be my #1 wings in Dublin. Love them & their chips so much so I've never ordered anything else which is a shame because everything looks so good it's just too hard to resist their wings.

I went here for brunch on Sunday; the place was packed, but we were lucky to get a table without any waiting. One of the best brunches I've had; the menu has got some seriously delicious choices. They had Fleetwood Mac's Rumours playing, the aroma of bacon and fresh coffee filled the restaurant as we waited for our orders, and when they arrived I was absolutely delighted with what I received. I chose the crab cakes with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce; I highly recommend trying this on your next visit! Divine. The one and only flaw was that it was Sunday so I couldn't be served a mimosa, devastating! I'll be sure to come back on a Saturday morning instead the next time.

Being a wing lover, it was only a matter of time before I ventured into Temple Bar's Elephant and Castle to sample their renowned Chicken wings. They most definitely lived up to the hype.
We arrived to a packed out restaurant with a group of five and were told we would have to wait forty five minutes for a table. With the amazing location of this restaurant, this was not a problem as we had a plethora of bars surrounding the venue to choose from for a drink before the meal. We arrived back and surely our table was ready. We were greeted by friendly staff who continued to serve us efficiently and happily throughout our evening. The menu was quite large and there was definitely something for everyone. To start I shared the wings. You have to get them. You just have to. The marinade, the sauce and the blue cheese dip were all delicious. I highly recommend them. For the main course then, I opted for a burger and chips. The burger itself was absolutely gorgeous. It was cooked to order perfectly and was extremely tasty. The garnishes added were so nice too and really complimented the burgers taste. My friend ordered a portion of chips, and they could have done with being slightly bigger considering you're paying nearly €5 for them. But otherwise, no complaints.
The venue itself is quite casual and fast paced. It's bright and there's a good atmosphere there. It's a perfect venue for a bite to eat after work or to have a catch up over food with friends.

Elephant & Castle is no new kid on the block. In fact, it's been there so long it would be difficult to picture Temple Bar without it. A true Dublin institution. Aware that this always busy-always buzzing spot needs no introduction, I thought it only fair to do a little review; as I've been a handful of times over the last couple of months.

Going back a little further than my recent visits, I vividly remember coming here the odd Sunday as a child. It was just as energetic back then too, and I remember watching the Popeye and Olive Oil dolls intently on the shelf above, hoping a passing server would take pity on my yearning and take them down for me to play with. I'd be lying if I said they don't still catch my eye when I'm waiting in the foyer to put my name down for a table.
After over 20 years in the business (25 to be exact according to Facebook), how often are Popeye and friends dusted?! Do children try and scramble on their parents shoulders and try to take them down? Do staff kick out misbehaving children? Where did these Popeye dolls even come from?! Why aren't the dolls on display elephants from Babar? Babar had a crown, that would cover both the elephant and castle side of things. See? Burning questions. But an elephant never forgets, and people never seem to forget this restaurant either. It's the perfect balance between tourists and regulars, and you'll never see an empty seat.

Before we get into why you should go - Elephant & Castle don't take reservations online or over the phone; tables are given on a walk-in basis. What I tend to do is go there first when I arrive in the city, put my name down for a table, go about my business and come back for my allocated time. I recently went for lunch on a Friday, asked for a table around 14.30 and was asked to come back at 15.15. Not bad at all, and it gives you the chance to visit one of Dublin's many bars for a pre dinner drink. If you're a party of 3 or 4, I would recommend asking for the booth at the back. It's my favourite spot! You're still very much immersed in the sights and sounds of the fantastic atmosphere yet you have your own little snug to discuss whatever you please. Like a well crafted plan to pilfer the Popeye dolls. If you want those window tables at the front, you need a bigger party.

Despite the place being packed round the clock with people everywhere, the vibe is distinctively relaxed; and the staff are all chilled out and friendly. Service is prompt and sometimes you get a few different faces to your table, which is totally fine by me, it's a good system they have going. Before you order drinks you'll get a jug of ice water to your table and your glasses will be topped up throughout - an important simple element for me which is sometimes forgotten when a restaurant is crazy busy.

Drinks wise we knew what we wanted, but a very nice server asked if we would like any recommendations. We ordered a glass of prosecco and a glass of The Accomplice Chardonnay (really nice and love the bottle, very memorable!) Both were very well priced. Bottles of wine and prosecco don't cost the earth either, considering the location.

The menu is varied and interesting, and it's clear to see great care went into its crafting. There are so many options, you'd never get bored. However, some folk don't even look at the starters part of the menu, for if you go to Elephant & Castle, you start with the wings. Up until recently, I hated chicken wings (Yeah, I know...bludgeons are included in this post.) Now I love them, and want to try them everywhere.

These wings are hella famous. Almost every table top in the place is adorned with a basket of glistening wings, smothered in E&C's secret sauce. They are really, really good. My only gripe that day was I didn't get as much sauce as usual, but asking for more would be selfish - they churn those things out so frequently to the masses, I know enough has to go around. The sauce is rich and spicy and you can smell the wings approaching from a mile away. Served with blue cheese sauce, they're perfect for sharing, or not sharing. I'm a mussel freak, so I took the liberty of ordering those too. You can't go wrong with mussels. The sauce is what makes these ones extra good - they're served with fennel and tomatoes in a garlicy white wine sauce.

For mains, my sister ordered the Elephant Burger, on a gluten free bun. Portions are generous and served on big sturdy plates. E&C is also the only place I know in Dublin that offer to pack up your leftovers in a doggie bag to take home without even having to ask.

Back to the burger. This burger is served with curried sour cream, streaky bacon, scallions, cheddar, tomato and a side of fries. Their fries are also very good fries. My Mother (with her ever virtuous intentions) ordered the pan-fried Irish salmon with scallion mashed potatoes, samphire (love that stuff) and varech butter.I ordered king prawns with ginger and lime couscous. I knew this would be good, but ordering something light and non-yeasty and burgery, I wasn't expecting anything outstanding. This to me on a menu would be a safe dish for me, but everyone is different, obviously.

Well now, let me tell you - I was pleasantly surprised. This dish was amazing, every bite better than the last - it was creamy, citrusy and the prawns were succulent and buttery. I was going to eat the tails but remembered my table manners. I also remembered I'm not a barbarian. It looks like it's no fuss, no frills; but it's a serious dish in terms of flavour.

So there you have it - a reminder of one of Dublin's finest establishments that you pass by regularly or probably haven't been to in a while. Keep it on your radar, it won't disappoint.

I have only ever gone here for brunch and this place gets packed out! There is generally a bit of a wait especially if you are in a larger group.
Breakfast is fab though and the odd choice is the french toast with bacon and apples and poached eggs - who'd have thunk this odd mix could work so well. There is no point in visiting E&C without getting their infamous Chicken Wings either - so tasty!!

I was gifted an Elephant & Castle voucher recently from Zomato and my boyfriend and I popped along on a Wednesday evening. Of course we couldn't help but order a bowl of wings to share for starters. Oh holy god they were so good and a great portion size. I love saucy food - and these things were coated in it. Perfectly crispy on the outside and tender in the middle - I didn't want the bowl to end. For mains I ordered the elephant burger - which is topped with bacon, cheese, scallions and curried sour cream. I wasn't sure I was going to like the sour cream but it was really good and there was lots of it too! The only downside was my actual burger was a little bit dry on the outside. The chips here are gorgeous - some of the best I've had. My boyfriend had the steak for mains which came in a gorgeous red wine sauce, and served with greens and potatoe gratin (which he thought was nice but 'not really his thing'). We didn't order dessert because we were absolutely stuffed but we had a couple of Dan Kelly apple ciders which went down very well. The staff were very friendly and attentive even though the place was hopping! I'm dreaming about those wings already so would definitely return!

We stopped here after an afternoon spent wandering the centre of Dublin, and according to my friend it was a favourite for locals. Even long after lunch was over, it was still full and buzzing. We ordered the famous spicy chicken wings, Mexican salad with grilled chicken and a side of rosemary fries. The portions were huge, the wings crispy and tangy with just a hint of spice- perfectly spicy and didn't burn my tongue! The salad was big enough for two to share, and the fries were unlike anything I've had before- they were thin and crispy- shavings of potato deep fried with rosemary. Service was attentive and fast and friendly. I can see why it is a popular haunt- would totally recommend!

Famous for the chicken wings.... And rightfully so! I have had them here just the once but can confirm they were great. Sometimes it's hard to live up to the hype but I think these wings do, I cannot really comment on the rest of the menu but we got nice sized portions for a reasonable price and left with a full belly. Located in the heart of the city, temple bar- being here means the tourist footfall is heavy and therefore you may need to wait a long time to get a table at weekends. You can put your name down at the restaurant and come back after an hour though which is handy.

Having only a few days in Dublin, this place was recommended to us by a local. We had no idea what to expect but it didn't take long to realise the spicy chicken wings were a favourite since so many tables had a basket (even saw one each for two people!) so we knew we had to try it. We were not disappointed. The warm duck salad and crab cakes were also very tasty. Risotto of the day was a little bland though. Overall good quality food and nice atmosphere. We were sat near the large windows so it was perfect for people watching.

Their spicy wings have a great reputation so we decided to go along and try them! We ordered spicy wings as a start and herb frites; the wings were delicious and the basket was so full that we didn't have appetite left for the mail meal! The frites were really tasty and unique with their fresh herbs.
The staff was so nice that packed up our main meal (chicken and bacon club sandwich) to take away. We will definitely visit them again to explore their great variety of dishes.
A little tip: if you decide to go there, pop in one hour (more or less) before your meal to reserve the table

This weekend I woke up and it was sunny, which gave me an instant boost of energy, even if the hangover after a huge house party was horrible. I didn’t find the strength to clean my house from cigarettes in the sink and drinks on every corner so I met one of the girls and decided to go for our weekend dose of bacon.

After almost 2 years living in this city and doing brunch every weekend, you end up running out of places to go, and which is more important, it gets difficult to select your favorites. I’ve always said Eden Bar & Grill is my favorite so far, and still being one of the best, but know there is a new baby to add to the top list: Elephant & Castle.

The menu is a great mix of the traditional brunch, full of eggs in every kind of form you can imagine: poached, Benedict, Florentine, in an omelette… I was about to choose the full Irish to follow tradition but then I saw one of my favorite things ever since I am like 4 years old and my father used to buy it for me in the weekends: croque monsieur.

This french specialité is served in Elephant & Castle in a huge portion with good quality bread and ham (something you don’t really find in croque monsieurs away from France) with a small salad as a side dish. Definitely more than enough to revive somebody saving you from a terrible headache, so don’t even think about taking french fries or bacon on the side if you don’t want to end up rolling, instead of walking, down the streets of Temple Bar.

Bon Apétite,

Grade: 9/10
Price: €€

This has been a long time favourite of my family's for as long as I can remember, this was pretty much the first place where 'wings' as we know them have been sold. My go to order has always been wings to share then sided with their delicious Caesar salad and their potatoe skinned fries. It's a real institution in Dublin and I would 100% recommend it. U can defo get wings on par with these in other spots around too but this is the original! U can't book typically so prepare to put ur name down and have to wait for up to an hour on busy evenings!

We just walked in with the expectation to fill our stomachs with pub grub. How wrong we were! The menu is very diverse and creative, and also quite reasonably priced, considering the location! We had a hard time choosing our suppers (attached the lamb roast), and finally were all happy with our choices. Every couple years we find a spot while traveling where we want to eat twice in a row. There is a reason Elephant and Castle is so popular. The service, the atmosphere, the food and location are all flawless. The wings are amazing and I recommend the calamari salad if you're trying to be good. Last Christmas, they offered a rum hot chocolate which felt very festive. It was very overpowering to begin with and I requested a small jug of hot milk to make it easier to drink. The waiter, although very busy, was very friendly and helpful. It's the perfect choice to celebrate a special occasion.

At first it was the name that struck me. Different I thought. As is their dish. Very different but a good kind of different. As in, asked for a chilli and red onion burger and it was presented as a need burger topped with chilli con Carne with a tasty side of what My taste buds guess is rosemary salted fries . It's like two lunches on the one plate. What a delight. The only thing better than lunch out of Elephant & Castle is 2 lunches out of Elephant & Castle. Must remark on the quick and efficient service and fancy presentation. Easy on the eye, tasty on the tongue.

I've heard so many things about E&C and this week seen a poll which placed them fifth for best wings in Dublin 2015. I had to check the place out. Restaurant itself was a nice layout and staff were quick and efficient. The wings however, you receive a MASSIVE portion which in hindsight I would get to share and also pick a main to graze on. I may be mistaken but I believe I counted 24 wings each and every one glossed with the spicy sauce which stings the nose but is just the right amount of spice. With a side of fries it was a top quality meal. There is always room for improvement however, providing a choice of dips with the wings rather than just the solitary choice of blue cheese would be a nice addition and a broader shallower bowl would mean the wings maintain their saucy exterior rather than becoming slightly dry and a pool of sauce developing at the bottom of the bowl. These are only small things, place was still class and will be back 100%. Can't award award #HiddenGem as it is too broadly known.

I will tell you something for nothing. The wings in this joint bring more joy to me, than Christmas morning. No word of a lie. Eat them quick now, you've only a small window of opportunity to get the best out of them. That heavenly sauce only keeps them moist for a while now, because she slides to the bottom, and trying to dip the wings in the sauce, just isn't as good. Don't be feared of the blue cheese dip, for she's only there to help. As for the celery sticks, I don't know what's going on
