We stopped in for a bite on a Saturday late afternoon. The musicians were very good and also quite funny. The pints were pricy, as with most places in Temple Bar, and for us the food was a mixed bag. We loved the mussels, but the bacon and cabbage was nothing to write home about. Quite bland, especially when compared to the flavorful mussels.
Our meal here was delicious, bangers and mash oh yeah. Washed down with cider. Then the live music started - wow! These two young guys... one guitarist and singer, the other a pipe/recorder in various sizes... wow did they put on a show! Visiting from Perth Western Australia, listening to these guys was such a treat! Great night.
Really nice place to chill, listen to live Irish music, have a Guiness for a reasonable price and have a seat! It was not packed, so it was really comfortable just to enjoy a pub at its best, the mood was perfect!
The prices are good but the staff is bit indifferent.

Our first dining out experience in the Temple Bar district of Dublin. The bar/restaurant is dark, cozy and inviting like many of the establishments seen in this quarter of town. Seeing as it's up something of a side street, it was a little quieter on a Monday night compared to the other pubs on the main pedestrian arteries. Seems like most of the Irish pubs offer the same sort of fare, no matter where you go, so still trying to find something a bit out of the ordinary. Our Guinness and Beef Casserole and Bangers and Mash were nicely presented on cute little plates, and the flavours seemed to be lacking some real oomph. The service was fine, but I guess I was looking for some real warmth and hospitality, which wasn't the case here. Tried a Smithwicks Blonde Ale for the first time and it would be one of the nicest drops I've had to date. The live music in the form of a solo guitar/vocalist was enjoyable in the background, along with the lady brave enough to do a solo for the patrons.
Decent pub food with all the Irish favorites!
Saturday night dinner with friends, big group, no reservation, still we were able to get the last big table. The restaurant serves pretty decent food for a pub. Sitting in the heart of the most touristic part of the city, is a perfect place to get proper Irish food.
I got some really crispy and spicy chicken wings as a starter and as a main got the daily special: pan fried hake, with mash, beetroot salsa and some vine tomatoes. Overall good flavors, in particular on the salsa. Fish a little bit on the dry side, but still good flavor. Everything else in the table look nice as well.
Nice pub atmosphere, decent food, good beer, great choice as a gastro-pub.
This was our second time at The Old Storehouse for lunch. Nice Guinness stew, good chicken wings and music every day! Ideal to eat or just for a pint!
This place has a very happening & fun feel to it. Live music is really good. There are screens if you want to watch matches. Food is great in quantity, quality and taste. Staff is courteous and service is prompt. If you are around temple bar, this one is a must visit.
Went here on vacation, a couple years ago and I still remember this place. Fish and chips was excellent and so was the Bangers and Mash. I recommend it to anyone. Follow my IG czech89 for pics of food and travel locations- even in Dublin.
The best thing about this place was the live music..there was a buzz inside this pub and the overall feel was amazing..one can enjoy the music..one can enjoy the live football telecast on the tv screens..one can sit and relax in peace..there is something for everybody here..the staff is very courteous..the food is good and goes well with the beer..A must visit.!
This was a fantastic pub! The customer service was incredible from the servers right up to the manager! The staff were so accommodating throughout the whole night with our large party table and took care of us without complaint. The food was incredible, simple food done extremely well. Would be back again and again!
Visited 6th of May 2014. Atmosphere was decent and food was good but not amazing. Live music was a lot of fun. Poor service left a bad taste in out mouths as it took an in ordinate amount of time to be seen to incentives plates were empty. We were also asked in a rather judgemental tone if we were sure we didn't want the side salad made up of lettuce, carrot and cucumber. This definitely rubbed us up the wrong way as you should not be made to feel so uncomfortable while out to dinner. During our wait between courses we watched as 3 staff members stood around talking while we waited to be taken notice of. The experience ad a whole was reasonable but the staff need to be more aware of how they come across with their comments and actions.
Typical irish pub? Maybe... But the live music show is very interesting. So, it is a nice show and we may enjoy our drinks and at the same time listening good music. I really enjoy the music.
