This place blew me away! Everything at herbstreet was perfect. The service and the food were 5 star without doubt. We came for brunch the two days running we were in Dublin (because it was so good, we had to come back!) it must have been two of the busiest days (the morning after st paddys day and the next day was Saturday morning too) they were fully booked but you wouldn't know it was packed by the wonderful and quick service. We were seated within a few minutes and given complimentary water whilst we waited. I ordered the best coffee in town. All the details were just spot on, we didn't have to wait to have our orders taken, the food all came at once and nothing was forgot! The table was cleared regularly and we were topped up with drinks. The staff just seemed really happy and helpful and the food was just gorgeous. I couldn't recommend it enough! Next time I am in Dublin, Herbstreet will be my first stop Thank you for a great experience, it was my friends Hen weekend and you blew us away!
Very funky place, breakfast was good value and filling. Staff lovely and service was quick. Lovely view of the quay also. Highly recommend.
What can I say; I just love Herbstreet!! Service is good (yes on busy days you may have to wait a bit longer but there's a reason it's busy) and super friendly and their food is great. Particularly recommend the French toast, it's some of the best I've ever had!
This place is hopping on weekends for brunch and there can be a 20-25 minute wait as early as 10:45 a.m. However, the portions are huge, the food is excellent and the staff is friendly. Try the tall stack blueberry pancakes with orange and honey butter that are packed full of fresh, bursting berries! The waterfront surroundings are also a big plus if you're sitting outside.
Herbstreet was able to accommodate our large group without a booking for a bank holiday brunch. When a few extra unexpected people turned up late, Herbstreet's staff were quick to find us extra tables and chairs, even though they were clearly exceptionally busy and fully booked. Every member of our group has heaped praise on the food served, and the service was top notch as well. I hope we weren't too much of an annoyance to you guys because we'd love to come back next bank holiday for brunch again.
We went to Herbstreet for brunch on Sunday. It was PACKED when it opened at 10am. We needed to wait 20 minutes to get a table. WELL worth the wait. Food was WONDERFUL. Nicely plated. Great service. I had the Eggo Mexicalos... very good. Not your typical Irish breakfast (and that is a good thing).
Highly recommend.
Great food, great service with a wonderful local buzz - highly recommend
They had a special on, gnocchi with goats cheese and a crispy duck egg. I have been a vegetarian for 26 years and it was the best main course I have EVER eaten.
OMG! Blueberry orange butter pancakes, bacon French toast, eggs benedict is all we managed to to get, but I'm sure the rest of the menu is at the same quality.
Had brunch here on Sunday morning. 15 min wait but so worth the wait. Food was delicious. Highly recommended the Eggs Benedict. Staff were extremely nice.
We had our pre theatre dinner here yesterday before going to see Blood Brothers. We had a beautiful meal and the staff were so friendly. We will definitely be going back. Wonderful place. Thank you
Visited recently for the 4th time, 1st time with my husband who's an Eggs Benedict fan. These were SO good, he had a second order. Great place and lovely staff :)
Extremely busy always a good sign. Excellent eggs Benedict. Great service lovely guy said 40 mins wait I'll phone you and he did. This place is a must when we come again
Had the best breakfast I’ve had in years at this venue. I can’t recall the name of it but it was avocado, eggs and sourdough with a delicious yoghurt. Absolutely to die for. I wish I didn’t leave it to the last day to try this place otherwise it definitely would have made another appearance on my itinerary. Coffee was nice and staff were friendly. Perfection all round!
The herbstreet is located in a new area of Dublin, very pleasant and calm. The place is, as comment by a friend, "the right mixture of busy and slow". Don't be put off but the prices, that are on the less affordable side of things, because portions sizes accomaby that price hike and the quality is there. I had a standard Irish/English breakfast which really didnt leave a lot of room for me to try other people's choices. Which you may have noticed is something I do frequently, so I laughed in the face of a certain tummy ache and did it anyway. The eggos mexicalos, what could be described as eggs in cocote meets Mexico, was very interesting but I'm not a fan of the tortilla chips. Our request to cancel the blueberry and maple syrup pancakes got too late so we all had to do our beat to deal with that as well, not becaise they weren't really good - they were -, but everybody was missing a 2nd stomach to store all the food.
The rating is a bit lower than deserved due to the staff not being particularly nice, onde particular wireless being quite rude to be exact. A pity becausr the scenario, the location, the food, all wraps in nicely and begs for a bit more recognition that the attitude really didn't allow that elevation.
Nice place, very busy for brunch and with a varied menu. Pancakes and french toast are worth a try, other dishes looks good too, will hopefully try next time in Dublin.
Best place for brunch! When I want to treat myself with a weekend brunch, I go here! Everything is delicious and the place is lovely. You can't book and often need to get there early to not wait too long outside. Highly recommended.
For some reason I thought there were no good breakfast options near The Marker Hotel (grand canal) where I was staying. My online reading had me listing Fumbally, Green 19 and Whitefriar Grill as options but none near me. I was very lucky to find Herbstreet on Zomato, and even luckier that I had been drinking the night before and so needed a later start to the day.
Eggos Mexicalos was very good ! Also my friend told me that the cheesecake and eggs florentine were amazing ! I will go back and try that cheesecake
I have been to Herbstreet twice, I got a veggie burger both times and it was lovely! There is a great atmosphere and staff are really friendly.
We were running late and arrived half an hour after our booking, although we were late there was no issue, which is rare for a busy restaurant in the city centre.
It is perfect for a pre show meal.
I reeeally liked Herbstreet! The location is fab, the views gorgeous. I came for brunch with two of the girls on a Saturday morning. We'd no reservation but the lovely waitress set us up outside, which I was happy for because the weather was nice (for once)! I arrived first but sat blissfully out in the sun looking out at the view! One thing I have to mention is their music. Their playlist was so good!!
I went for pancakes, chocolate chip with whipped cream. I also went for a tall stack, I was too ambitious!! 6 pancakes and they were a generous helping. Unfortunately, I think I made a poor choice. I thought the pancakes needed more chocolate 'cause they were a little dry. You needed the cream! I know its brunch, but icecream would've gone so well with them too. I think next time I'd go for maple syrup and bacon. Now don't get me wrong I ate a lot of them! I couldn't hack them all though, so filling! I also got two glasses of prosecco which was so good of course!
I am most definitely going to be back here and soon. I want to try the dinner menu and more brunch! The location is so central, staff lovely, the view gorgeous and the food fab.
When we first arrived there was a wait so we put our names down on the list. We were advised a wait of 25 mins but they called in 15 mins 🎉 The BEST GF FRENCH TOAST EVER 🐷😋..the bread was so spongy it didn't even feel like it was GF I can't express how good it was! The staff were lovely and checked on us twice..my friend got the blue pancakes with honey butter! Our new favourite spot ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Had a pleasant brunch here today with a dull view of the grand canal dock unfortunately, other than that the service and food was superb. Only flaw for me was the gooeyness of the sweet potato wedges that came with my turkey burger. Skinny fries are a must, v addictive.
This place is always busy - so great sign!! I have gone here for lunch on a sunny day! I sat outside and the setting was fab! The service was quick and the food was delicious!! I am dying to come back here for brunch as I hear it's the bomb!!! 😂
Waking up on a Sunday morning means only one thing, a trip to herbstreet for a Sunday brunch. I had the French toast with bananas, maple syrup, pecan nuts and clotted cream which was divine, but probably too big! My dad had eggs Benedict with bacon which was so good. Safe to say this is a place to fill you up and leave you happy for the rest of the day!
Possible the best pancakes in Dublin.
We originally came here on a Saturday morning at 12.30 for the full brunch, but on a rainy day and with an hour wait we said wed pop into HQ next door (very good read review below!)
However, after brunch in HQ we decided to chance our luck and see if they had a table for pancakes. Luckily they did.
They have a range of the type of pacakes you can get, but we opted for the chocolate chip with cream is pancakes, and they didn't disappoint.
Possible, actually most definitely the best pancakes Ive tryed in Dublin.
Cant wait to go back and try the full menu!
Very easily could be the best pancakes I've had in Dublin. The selection consists of a choice of a short stack of 3 pancakes (€5) or a tall stack of 6 (€7), and a huge range of toppings extra! I went for the chocolate chip pancakes with cream and was not disappointed. They were amazing, I already can't wait to try the rest of the menu!
Lovely brunch. Got the eggs Benedict. Absolutely lovely. Generous portions and nice atmosphere. The sweet potatoes were also incredible. Love love love.
Herbstreet Brunch, conveniently located at Grand Canal is always the perfect solution for my friends and I if we don't want to walk all the way across town, but still have a great brunch. The portions are good, however I felt it was a little overhyped. The setting is nice, sometimes a little too crowded though.
The food is however delicious, so if youre looking for a quick sunday morning fix, Herb Street will usually do it for me.
Had been dying to try this place for so long, mainly for brunch, but tried it for dinner last night. I got the fish curry, it was alright, I wouldn't go for it again though as there are better options on the menu. The turkey burger was apparently so good, I'll definitely try that next time. It came with chunky sweet potato wedges and a chipotle dip on the side. For dessert I struggled to choose between the New York cheesecake, chocolate waffle or the sticky toffee pudding. I went for the sticky toffee pudding, it didn't beat the one you can get in Asador but it was still pretty tasty! It was a very quiet night with only 5 or 6 tables taken, so service was great. It's definitely the spot to go to on a sunny day to sit outside by the docks!
I'm definitely coming back here, every dish I saw other people getting gave me extreme food envy. I decided to go for their classic fry and my god, the black pudding and sausage were amazing (and huge) but the real star of the show was the corned beef hash brown - delicious with a hint of spice. Next time, definitely the pancake stack... Or maybe the French toast?! I think I'll have to come back a few times...
My fave brunch spot in Dublin to date (and, if you follow me you'll know that I go out for brunch a LOT)
This comes down to the dishes at the end of the day as each one is superb. It has a real NYC vibe to the place; bustling, bright and busy.
The wings are a must but everything on the menu is worth trying. Great location, hard working staff & very well done brunch classics.
I went here recently for lunch with 2 other people. The place was packed, so make sure you book a table! I ordered the turkey burger and it was gorgeous. The wait wasnt too long for such a full restaurant. I would definitely recommend
Been here on so many occasions and if you don't mind a bit of a wait for a table, it's possibly the best brunch in Dublin! Eggos Mexicalos is to die for!!
We had a lovely breakfast. Pancakes, french toast, lattes and hot chocolate. Everything was perfect. The waiters were very friendly as well. If you are in Dublin give it a try, you wont be disappointed.
Finally I tried brunch in herb street! I now understand why there is a constant queue! I got eggs Benedict and my friend got pancakes!
The eggs were absolutely fabulous, perfectly cooked and the sauce was fantastic!
Pancakes were delicious and nicely soft.
Really nice coffee too!
Definitely I'm going back!
Really nice place to go for a brunch on Sundays..nice view, friendly staff and I just had to wait for 15 minutes to have a table outside, I'll definitely come back soon.
The one problem with this place is that they don't take any reservation. You can pop in and give your name and phone number, go for the coffee to Lolly and Cooks or Valentino for 20min. But this scenario works if you are the local, and you are not traveling especially to eat here. What would I recommend is the Wild Mushrooms on Toast. Really well cooked (always) and very tasty. Works if you are the mushroom lover. I was also trying Turkey Burger. Burger itself was quite weird in taste and consistency but well seasoned and for some reason I would order it again. Skinny Fries with smoked aioli is great but way overpriced (5euro). Tip - order scrambled eggs with toast and grilled tomato (or whatever from the menu that goes with eggs). The last time I've been there I've paid 5 euros for that combination, cheaper than anywhere : -D great deal. Also, NO SOY MILK.
Really like the decor in this place, really funky space. Headed here before the Grand Canal one night and liked it, not a huge selection for dinner but what I got was very tasty.. I went for the Turkey burger and sweet potato fries. Perhaps it's down to location but even so I did feel €15 for a burger was pricey.
I ordered Herbstreet Brunch plate. My first time tasting black pudding and I liked it. Mashed potatoes, bacon, eggs and bread were good. The sausage meat was actually tasty but the minty flavour in the spice mix of it wasn't for me so I couldn't finish it all.
Service is good.
This place is ALWAYS busy, good sign right?
Had brunch here on Sunday and it was delicious. The menu is quite refined so you don't have too much choice, you will see the usual's - pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict, full Irish etc.
I got the eggs benedict and it came with ham, you can upgrade your option to bacon also. I really enjoyed the ham, it had a smoky flavour to it. There wasn't too much hollandaise sauce too so I could taste my food. My brunch partner got the waffles with clotted cream - yum! Price wise it was ok, standard prices and ok sizes.
We sat outside and they had heaters and blankets which was nice as it was a cool day.
I would recommended Herbstreet for brunch but expect to wait to be seated. We had a 30 minute wait so popped next door for a coffee until we got the call.
Breakfast, breakfast, breakfast. Go to herb street and get the pancakes, ridiculously good! Myself and my friend usually get pancakes, maple syrup and fruit. Grand canal is lovely on a nice day, just be warned there will be a queue.
Went here for brunch recently and despite it being a long wait (not ideal for your first meal of the day) the food was amazing. I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict which was cooked to perfection and they served great coffee too. nice location and medium prices.
My god, the chicken wings!! I suffer from serious food envy and today really took the biscuit - they looked bloody amazing!!!!!!
I however ordered the herbstreet combo which consisted of a goats cheese and pancetta quiche, quinoa and pine nut salad and a cup of soup. I'm a sucker for goats cheese and the quiche did not let me done! Quinoa salad was also extremely tasty but unfortunately I wasn't too crazy about the butternut squash and garlic soup. Although, My friend also ordered it and loved it so guess that's just my personal taste.
Overall I think this is a good spot, prices are a bit high for what you're getting but that definitely will not put me off returning...for those chicken wings!
Great spot if the weather is good. Always quite busy and good food. Around €15 per person for a main, but it's fairly standard in the area. Have gone a good few times for lunch. A solid option.
Lovely place to grab brunch at the weekend. Eggs benedict and full breakfast are particularly delish. This place is always packed and has a great buzz. Perfect
location too in The Grand Canal Dock.
One of the best options in the area if you work in the ifsc which I do! They do great daily sandwich and quiche specials which are reasonably priced- can be halved and had with a cup of their soup special also. The scallop linguini and Turkey burger are both delicious, quite expensive for a work lunch but good for a meeting or work lunch also. Need to book particularly on Friday
Herbsteet Restaurant was advertised as just that, with glowing reviews and a passion for sustainability I was excited to see that it was located at the Grand Central Dock, just around the corner from our Dublin hotel.
The interior of the restaurant was simplistic but with character in a what I can only describe as a Scandinavian style. Though the walls were a a matt grey there were pops of colour and natural elements scattered throughout. One of these quirky colour features was the lighting: 109 LEDs were placed within a tubular system made from recycled conduit which used the same amount of power as a 100 watt bulb, not only environmentally friendly but also an interesting decorative piece.
Though the lighting had a futuristic look there was also a homely feeling created using plants and Harry Bertoia chairs covered in cutesy animal prints. This place was a wonderful mix of contemporary and natural, which was also emulated in their food.
The restaurant took a modern twist on classic dishes, using ingredients sourced from as close a proximity as possible to minimise the carbon footprint and that were also derived from sustainable sources.
The first dish I tried was the Eggos Mexicalos, a construction of 2 baked eggs on a spicy habanero tomato sauce, spring onions, fresh chopped tomatoes with Swiss cheese and steamed baby spinach. This layered dish was oozing with delicious runny eggs and cheese which combined together in a wonderful tasty mess. To take this one step further we also ordered a side of zesty guacamole.
I enjoy eating with my hands as I feel it creates and additional sensory element, and is also much more sociable. So I was pleased that the meal was finished off with a side of the lightly salty chips which made for a convenient scoop to gather all the ingredients.
Next was to move onto the Sautéed Wild mushrooms on toast, which was served in a light roasted garlic and truffle cream sauce, on thick cut toasted brioche, finished off with a pile of rocket and roast cherry tomato. The fresh crunch of the salad balanced out the incredibly rich creamy mushrooms perfectly. Both dishes were incredibly different from one another yet equally palatable.
Though I was initially looking for somewhere close by to help my hangover subside I got much more from this vibrant little restaurant with great values and food to match.
We always have a great time here .. Whether it's grabbing breakfast with a pint (days I'm not working ) or a super delicious brunch with a nice glass of Verdejo .. Awesome place for vegan lovers and vegetarian junkies! Highly recommend the Sunday brunch when the sun is out along with the kayaks in the canal!
Visited here for the second time this weekend. Chicken wings were amazing, I had heard a lot about them so hopes were high! Loved the range of food on the brunch menu- but it is quite expensive. €5 for a side of chips is a bit steep with most other dishes around the €12-14 mark. Staff were super friendly and made the experience nice and relaxed which is just what you want on a Saturday!
I was introduced to this restaurant by a work colleague and I was instantly hooked. I was a regular for brekkie when I worked across the street. Unfortunately I don't work in Dublin anymore so I just go on special occasions. Brunch on a Sunday with that corned beef hash is divine. Happy munching!!
