Everything in this place taste amasing, sambos, weekly special and dont let me even mention the doughnuts, they are the best in town( not too heavy, not too sweet they are perfect) The only issue I have with them is that I end up buying 4 of them as I want to try all the flavors. The chef(s) are absolute stars and the staff is lovely. I am so happy i found this place which is within walking distance. If you are around you have to stop there. You wont be desapointed!! *** best place around alert*** very good value for money*** lovely setting*** lovely staff****
Arrived late afternoon on Saturday (yesterday) with my wife and we were treated to the best steak sandwich I've eaten outside of Philadelphia (Gino's and Pat's in South Philly are the best in the world) which is high praise indeed. We will be back and be sure we'll let our friends know about you. Thank you! Ro
This place is a little gem !! just finished my tuna melt wrap and it was yummy :) you won't be disappointed. The staff are very friendly and their smiles brighten my day :)
I've been eating here for lunch, at least three if not four days of the week since 147 Deli opened. This is without doubt thee best place to get a soup and sandwich in Dublin! The food is fresh and delicious and always very fresh and the staff are an awful sound bunch! If you're looking for good food, check this place out, 5 Stars!!
I get my sandwiches here every week. All the sambos are beautiful but the rueben is to die for. The service is brilliant and the staff are the nicest people.
Amazing food and gorgeous staff!
Helpful, friendly and open minded!
Thank you very much - I can highly recommend this place!
Love this place very welcoming and cozy and obviously the food is tops 😍
Amazing gourmet sandwich that taste superb at such affordable prices. The staff is also very friendly.
The food is always first class. The staff are always really friendly. It's the best Deli in Dublin by some distance.
Great food, staff and prices real cool little spot. Highly recommend a trip
Delicious food. Friendly service. And not very expensive. Great experience!
Lovely place to eat. Got the sausage and bacon bap. Each bite was better than the last and was the perfect cure for the Patrick's Day hangover.
Amazing sandwichs, coffee, soup and donuts served in a very bohemian style atmosphere without being pretenious. Top place for lunch. Bonus points for seeing Domhnall Gleeson eating beside me one day.
Absolutely amazing little laid back spot with outstanding sandwiches. First class
Best sandwiches you'll get get anywhere the high quality ingredients love the Reuben or meatball the most recent special the 147 rib special is something else!!
Seriously good breakfast. Really friendly staff. I'll be back!
When I had my first sandwich at 147 Deli, I was simply awestruck. No wonder this place makes the best sandwiches in Dublin. The food is very fresh and all the items are made with a lot of love and care. Of course, you would get good sandwiches everywhere, but the selection and layering of items is utterly flawless and brings out a range of awesome flavors. It definitely met all my expectations. The service is very good and the selection of seating along with some lovely decor makes this place so nice ( a bit on the quirkier side, though). This place is a must visit for everyone who prefers good sandwiches on the go in a pocket friendly deal.
Had my first breakfast in Dublin town on 147 Deli and really enjoyed. The beef sandwich was really good and the service is really great. I recommend even if the part of the town is completely under construction and is very dirty the streets.
Go to college in cathal brugha street across the road so by now this my local, as a student the €6.95 every day burns a hole in my pocket but I just can't help it they are so damn good! Soup and bread at just 3.95 are unreal too, everything is so fresh and the menu is just mouthwatering I want to try everything! Cheese steak is my favourite which I had today! Please stop me ...
Went to the 147 deli for a sandwich with high expectations as i had heard from numerous people it was amazing and my expectations were definetely met ... got the club sandwich as recommended by a friend and it was delicious .
Staff were very friendly and the service was quick and with a smile . Will definetely be returning the next time i am close by .

Went here for last week for a quick lunch. Never been here before but I had heard great things about it. The place is small but quirky. We went at lunch time so it was mad busy. Its a counter service cafe, and you can see all the sandwiches are made and ready to go. The sandwiches come within minutes of ordering. I got the smoked bacon and chicken but tie which was lovely, be prepared to get very messy with these sandwiches. It was only 5ish euro and I as so full after. The only downfall is that there needs to be more seating, people can't get enough of here. There definitely needs to be more eatery's like this on the north side of the city. I will definitely be back.
The best sandwich shop in Dublin. I don't give an accolade like that lightly but it is without doubt deserved. No matter what sandwich they serve up every day it is utterly flawless. Check out their instagram to see videos of the whole process. The pulled pork is the menu staple but the weekly specials is what sets the place apart without a doubt. A good selection of seating and some lovely decor round the place off. This is a must visit spot no matter how far the journey, the location might be on the gritty end of nice but 147 Deli is an oasis.
Have been here quiet a few times and always really enjoy it. I've previously had the rueben and the pulled pork bap but today decided to go for the sumac chicken wrap. It was good choice it was delicious but for me nothing beats the rueben. Ingredients are fresh and staff are friendly and down to earth. Great to have such great sandwich place on the northside
Lunch on the North Side is rarely a treat so if you'd rather munch on something other than Subway or Burger King then this is the place to go. Their sandwiches ooze with tasty goodness – pulled pork; goats cheese; pastrami & sauerkraut. Good coffee and pastries too for a post carbo pick me up.
We came for the donuts which have been the talk of Dublin's sweet tooths (teeth?) In recent months and, I won't lie, the donuts were everything we hoped they would be- perfectly sized, incredible favour combinations and squishy.
But the sandwiches, NY deli style, are worth the visit alone. No other sandwich this side of the river can compare. I'm in love.
Being in college on the north side of town, It's quite hard to find nice healthy spots for lunch. I was told about this place a few weeks ago and couldn't believe I hadn't heard of it before considering its only about a 2 minute walk from college.
I have been here two of three times and haven't been disappointed by any of those visits. They have a great menu with some interesting sandwich, bap and wrap options. They also do a soup of the day. The sandwiches are €6.50 which I think isn't too bad considering the quality. They also do soup and sandwich combos.
I've tried the meatball sub which came on a sour dough roll and I made it into a combo with their Mexican beef and tomato soup which was really hearty and tasty. I've also tried the 147 club which was dressed with an amazing onion and chipotle mayo, definitely a new favourite!
Food is served very fast and the staff are really friendly but it does get very busy around lunch time so you aren't always guaranteed a table and if you do get one it can sometimes be quite a tight squeeze which is a bit of a downfall.
Absolutely delighted to have found this spot. Just a 2 minute walk from college, great coffee, great service and delicious food. Very appealing menu, would try everything on it, ordered the BLT with chipotle mayo on an onion bap. One of the nicest sandwiches I've ever had, everything was fresh and prepared within minutes. Definitely returning.
I love New York style deli sandwiches and when I am craving one I head here to get my fix. I always order the Reuben Sandwich on Arun Bakery rye bread. It is delicious and juicy and so filling. The place gets really busy here at lunch time so expect to queue and share tables but the staff are really friendly and fast so you are never really waiting for that long.
I decided to re-review the 147 today as part of my 12 reviews of Christmas Aisling Byrne
Around this area there is not many nice places for lunch at all . I find it really hard to get a nice lunch when I am in college in this area .
I previously got the Mexican and beef tomato soup it was served with wholemeal brown bread that tasted lovely !
147 is perfect for a healthy quick and tasty lunch . The food is fresh and there is a lot of choice on the menu , it is really nice home made lunches . Today I got the chicken wrap in a lemon sauce and it was simply delicious . The chicken was so fresh and the lemon dressing really complemented the salad it tasted amazing !
There is a selection of sandwiches soups and salads , I also tried my friends Indian beef bun with mango chutney at it was also really tasty. The flavours in the bun were really different and strong but they really worked together.
The prices are reasonable and the staff are so friendly !! I gave this an extra 4.5 today as it really is the nicest place to lunch in this area .
Called in here for a treat to take home on a weekday evening. Two things struck me as I entered and looked around:
1. How clean the place was. For a busy cafe on Parnell street this place was spotless. And as it was getting towards closing time you would have forgiven some late in the day laziness, waiting until the door was locked before cleaning the place. But no, the floors, counters and tables were immaculate.
2. The good use of space. The entry way led straight to the counter and was kept clear of tables leaving it clear for what I can imagine are busy morning and lunch coffee rushes.
I got the brownie and it was delicious. Cocoa-y and hazelnut-y are the two made up words if use to best describe it. It was a good size for the price and very much enjoyed.
I'll definitely be back to sit in and try their sandwich and drinks.
I went to 147 today for a sandwich and a doughnut – and I wasn't disappointed. Today's special was a delicious chicken sandwich that came roasting hot on an onion bap, and the doughnut I chose – from the Dublin Doughnut Company – was salted caramel and incredible. I always recommend 147 to people for delicious lunch on the north side. My one bugbear? They give plastic cutlery and lunch comes on a tray. I'm a purist and would love plates and some nice stainless steel cutlery!
Amazing sandwiches if you're in the area looking for a hearty, filling lunch. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday they stock delicious and fresh doughnuts from Dublin Doughnut co. At €3 euro each they're definitely worth a try if you have a sweet tooth!
Ok so I came here before I decided to go gluten free and God am I glad I did! I had the Reuben. It was a sexual experience. So so good and very friendly staff. If you're in the area, it's the only place to grab a sambo.
Trecked 50 minutes in the cold to try these amazing donuts. Anyone on a diet, read no further! 147 delis hidden in not the best location, but the inside is new and trendy, and the concept is great. I only tried the donuts from the famous 'Dublin Donut Co' and my although feeling extremely guilty afterwards, it worth every calorie! Absolutely amazing and flavoursome is the only way i can explain them. Not too sickly sweet, with each flavour as good as the other. A definite go to if your around the area!!
The sandwiches here are amazing. So far I've tried the bbq pulled pork and the 147 steak. The pork oozed everywhere but so what? That's what napkins are for!! Oh and as for the 147 steak.. It wouldn't be out of place in an NYC deli.
The sandwiches are so fresh and just nom! You can tell that time is spent on the prep and they certainly getting the best flavour out of the ingredients..
Yes this hipster place isn't exactly in the nicest part of town but please don't let this put you off trying here you're looking for somewhere to grab a great sandwich!!
They also sell Dublin Doughnut Co doughnuts here and they're bloody amazing!
I hadn't been here in a few months since my bus stop moved, but I intend to make regular trips this winter. I had a cinnamon scroll, coffee and super juice this morning. The scroll was a sticky coil of softness, dark dust coating the inside of each twist. The indent that the twists made on the loops surrounding them was the perfect host for icing and nuts to mélange delectably. The coffee was the right amount of bitter for me and actually woke me up, an effect that usually comes only after the third cup. I agonised over which juice to choose, my basic companion hovered over me with his croissant and milky coffee and urged me to pick the orange juice. I went for super juice because I wanted something roughage-y. The seaweed colour made me feel virtuous and the noticeable apple, lime, and spinach was pleasant and fun. It's nice when juice doesn't take itself too seriously. Lovely service as always, my favourite server was coming in as I chose my pastry. The big Lebowski art in the bathroom is really cool, and the Eamonn Doyle photos. My only quibbles were that the salads weren't made yet and that it was a wee bit cold, I'll sit further away from the juice fridge next time.
Work nearby and frequent here for lunch. Every single thing on the menu is delicious. I always get their salmon and rocket sandwich on crisp rye bread. It's so lemony and delicious. The staff are the smiliest, friendliest and most helpful I've come across in any cafe in Dublin, I highly recommend the place. The chicken pesto sandwich is also amazing.
Came in here one day for lunch having come across their page on Facebook and seeing the photos of their sandwich. First thing that struck me is that I felt like I was walking off Parnell Street and right into a trendy little cafe located somewhere on the southside, it's just the polar opposite of everything else on this scaldy dump of a street. Every time I've come here I've ordered something different however every time I've asked the 147 cheese steak seems to have sold out, however anything I have had has been a feast for the taste buds, really is worth paying double what you'd pay for a chicken fillet roll in centra for one of 147's delectable gourmet sandwiches, had the soup here one day too, think it was carrot and courgette or something of the sort and that was well peng too👌.The staff are really nice too, the fact they take down your name when ordering and remember it when bringing you your food is a nice touch. Nice little slice of the southside on the northside.
Great atmosphere in this place, really cool inside. Got the pulled pork sandwich and was really good. Will deffo be back, great spot for lunch.
One of the guys in work raves about this place so much so that when he was going I made him pick me up a sambo. I got the pulled pork. It was lovely and kept well considering he had to travel far back. I've seen photos of the inside and it looks very cool. I will be going back next time I'm near it.
Really nice lunch spot! I had the club sandwich, it was amazing! My friend had the cheese steak sandwich, which was also delicious. Will definitely be back!
For the past number of years Dublin has been consistently upping its sandwich game and it's been one the best things to have happened to the capitols food scene. 147 might make the best sandwich in Dublin. It's certainly either them or Brother Hubbard. I went for a chicken pesto sandwich and holy shit was it the best pesto I have ever had. The chicken was soaked in the stuff. It was oily, just salty enough and (I really really hate to use this word but it's accurate in this case...) moist. Served with a bitta rocket and a coffee. It's a shame I work so far away because I would be getting this every day if they were closer to Baggot Street
