The food is top notch! Love the Friday night snack menu...just what you need with a glass of vino or three� lunch menu never fails to tantalise the taste buds! Great cooking! Fantastic ambience! Fabulous cosy pub!
Just had lunch here with my son (7). Firstly he was made feel special so child friendly. Staff could not be more helpful......top marks! Food is excellent. I would highly recommend the Chowder combo. If you like plenty of fresh fish you will not be disappointed. Sandwich of chicken, pesto and sundried tomatoes was delicious. Definitely a place to visit when you are in West Cork let alone Clonakilty. Will be back later to sample the fine selection of top shelf spirits. GQ
Had a great staff party here last night, the bbq they put on for us was way over my expectations, couldn’t fault the staff here in anyway!! And the atmosphere is brilliant in there, would recommend to everyone to go there and see for themselves!😁 will definitely be going back again😁thank you scannells bar for an unforgettable night out !!
Scannells bar was a must when we were kids !!!! We used to go in with our Dad to see Mrs Scannell and it was always a treat for us . When Kevin & Shein took it over it was like going back in time . They changed a few things 😊 When you walk in you still feel the warmth of the old place and always a welcome when you walk inside. Music and food to beat the band and an incredible beer garden, where I've had the pleasure to sing in on many occasions. If you don't like this place then there is something seriously wrong with you . The staff are amazing too especially the latest addition 😂😂.
A good place for food and drink, great staff nothing too much trouble for them. Throughly recommend this bar

This is MY happiest place on Earth. The patio is perfection. A sail overhead on a drizzly day. Propane heaters above as well. An outdoor fireplace is there to ward off the chill and add a very cozy feel. The food is good, the bar staff lovely and the crowd eclectic and interesting. Scannells is my night sorted.

Seafood Chowder vs. Ramen!
Any Clonakilty visit is inevitably connected with at least one visit to Scannells:) Since months I had been looking forward to a lovely bowl of Scannells seafood chowder but alas, when I looked in the menu, there was no seafood chowder to be had, as there were no crab toes (never knew they had any). I cried heavily but only on the inside. To proud was I to show my tears of disappointment. I heavy-heartedly ordered the seafood ramen, although I don´t really like ramen, noodles or mussels but my sadness had blurred my mind. I drenched my pain with a Clonakilty Smuggler, or was it two? When the bowl came I saw my distraught expression reflected in the dark liquid. A tear managed to sneak its way out and fell into the soup and distorted my face even more... I decided to give it a try and what shall I say, my taste buds exploded and I was overcome with joy. It was the first time a ramen and mussels actually tasted and exquisitely at that. My companions equally enjoyed their meals:) Now I am counting the days till my next visit and if there´s no chowder, I know what I am having instead;)
Great little pub- smashed it at the guitar fest this year, best gig I caught all weekend! Beyond that the food is excellent, friendly staff and the atmosphere is always bang on.
Fabulous place and tasty menu, you must try the smoked chicken and wild boar black pudding salad.
Had the gluten free fish and chips. They were THE best! Can't wait to go back! The service was excellent!

Perfect pub in a lovely town
We tried several different dishes and every one was delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy. We will most definitely come back.
