A nice few days away in west Meath , was on a drive around today came across grogans pub restaurant in the quant village of glasson. 5 km from athlone town centre. So booked a table for. 8pm, from the time we went trough the pub doors we were made feel wellcome, after a few drinks we were shown to our table, of course as a chef I browsed trough the menu which was very challenging as a menu with too much choice, so choose the fish starter followed by a steak, to say it was the best food I ever tasted would be an under statement , the flavours in the king prawn and calamari well presented , the steak soft tender and medium rear as requested with a slight taste of pepper sauce, chunky chips , my partner a vegetarian had a bruschetta to start and a goats cheese filo pastry wrap, again very tastefull and full of individual flavours, as I was informed a female chef in the kitchen well done to all concerned , great waiting staff and a take away of chilli jam orange marmalade and if u ask nicely you'll but 3 and get one free. We will def be back
Had a wonderful time at Grogans this evening. Staff was friendly and caring, service was quick and efficient. Great variety of both food and drinks were provided, portions were beautifully presented on the plate and cooked with delicacy and care.
Furthermore dishes were accompanied by a friendly atmosphere of the place which was created by cozy and welcoming decor. Definitely a place to visit.
Me and my hubby and our 2 boys dined in Grogans yesdy eve and i have to say it was the tastiest food we have ate in a while and very reasonably priced. Possibly the best vanilla cheesecake I’ve ever eaten. Your staff are excellent your food is amazing and the cheesecake will definitely bring me back
We stayed at a local b&b and dropped in for a meal. A lovely pub with nooks and crannies. Great atmosphere, I ordered a steak medium rare, really nice and tender, my wife had the Irish stew, so big she couldnt eat it all. The place was full but they juggled tables so that all got a seat. The Friendly staff were great and at the end it was an enjoyable night and a reasonable price
A lovely little old pub. Great atmosphere plenty of history everywhere. Also the best quality fresh food I've had in that area. Priced well and generous portions. The potato skins and fillet steak are amazing. 5 stars

Absolutely excellent service and fabulous food. Our little lady decided to kick up a fuss just as our dinner arrived today, our waiter was fantastic, took my food away and brought it back still piping hot and gorgeous when I eventually got her settled. We will definitely be back; hopefully with a happier baby in tow next time
